Women have been more intelligent than men for a hell of a lot longer than there's been a test around to prove it. Intelligence tests 'look' for traits which those who formulate them want to find. In times hence, nobody wanted to find any indication that women were smarter--just as they didn't want to find any indication that blacks or Jews might be smart back in the thirties.

The best definition I ever heard for 'IQ' was that which an intelligence test was designed to measure. If you start out with a biased measure, you're gonna get biased results. Shocker!

They always have been. I can remember back in elementary school, they girls beat the guys in just about every subject. It wasn't until later that their math and science skills seemed to slow down. That was in the 70s though and they may have already been starting to be turned towards what was considered more feminine carreers.

Toss up would be an appropriate response to choose from. Without a degree, I have demonstrated some knowledge accepted and appreciated by a PhD in materials sciences, provided crucial that enables another PhD and I to achieve a U.S. Patent. I have also demonstrated a sense of humor that has ranked me up with some of the most proficient playground third graders. Somewhere along the line, such a superior mind should have kept me out of the principal's office. I have also shown a member of the National Honor Society how to transfer bubbles from one beaker to another. It all depends on left side - right side brain problems that challenge their strengths.

In my experience...
Women are generally pretty smart, with some dumb ones and some really bright ones. Men are either bright or complete nitwits, with absolutely no margin in between.

Sorry, but my answer of no is simply that I don't believe gender or race has anything to do with how intelligent one is... I know women I consider to be very intelligent and I know men to be the same. I also know folks of both sexes that make me wonder what happened to them when they were babies. :) Bottom line.. you are who you make yourself to be; well, that is once you are able to comprehend that ability.

Women have been smarter than men way before society realized it. Let's explain it like this, society has been biased against women and several other groups of people since the very beginning. That's just the truth. If you have a biased test, you'll get biased results. That's it. But, there is obviously no way women couldn't be smarter, if they had no formal education for years in society, yet still managed all that they did.

I've never bought into the idea of valuing one gender over the other or seeing intelligience as gender based. Every test has an agenda that is designed to have a specific outcome, and we manipulate the data to reflect whatever we want.

I don't think any gender is superior in intelligence, but I have never met so many rude, arrogant women in my life before I visited America. Sorry, but that was how my wife and I felt, about 1 in 5 were pleasant to talk to or be around.

You are right, I found that just about everyone was rude, including many men, but my wife told me that most women she tried to talk to were, in your language, extremely b*tchy on average. We made a point to tour all aspects of American society, from upper middle class to lower class, and no matter where we were everyone felt they were more important to those around them. I see this everywhere, but it was so prevalent in America. We were originally thinking of buying house and moving to America, but after our trip and thinking of how we would raise our two small children we decided not to and we are thinking of visiting Australia instead. I think you see smart men with stupid women, but you hardly ever see smart women with stupid men.

Sorry your trip to America wasn't all that great. I'v lived there my whole life, so I guess I'm little biased when I say that isn't too bad. Personally I think that 1 out of 5 people are bitchy here.
