What's the best way to a woman's heart? A new handbag!
One in four women prefer buying a new purse over anything else, according to a U.K. shopping website Saveme4later.com's survey of 2,000 women. The top 10 "pleasure purchases" were handbags, shoes, summer dresses, concert tickets, jeans, jewelry, little black dresses, chocolates, underwear and beauty products.
"Buying the perfect handbag was considered to be a sure sign of a successful shop and nearly a quarter of women said that buying a new handbag meant they felt happier than if they were to shop for any other item," the poll found.
And Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston are no different than you and me. Brad Pitt's lovers present and past were both spotted carrying Tom Ford's black leather "Carine" bag. Must be nice to be able to spend $2,200 on a purse.
Looking for a new bag for fall? According to the "Today" show, "classic" handbags with plenty of hardware are in style (hence Jolie and Aniston's look), and we keep seeing ladylike shoulder bags in the magazines.
But really, we're just as excited (if not more) about a great pair of boots or jeans. What's your favorite thing to splurge on?

Jeans I can kind of understand. You spend like $5 bucks on a pair, chances are they'll rip within two weeks. Jeans NEED to have durable material that's gonna last for me.
I didn't even really go the designer route on bags 98% of the time. I just love pretty and interesting bags. Even my "diaper" bags are stylish. But still...relatively inexpensive. I do a lot of Marshall's shopping. This is my latest "diaper" bag, got it on clearance and Marshalls for $45. Or at least it's very close to this. It's a Michael Kors.
