Growing your fingernails is one thing (although it can get pretty nasty after, say, half an inch), but growing your toenails four inches is about as bizarre -- and unsightly -- as it gets. Ayanna, 54, has spent the last five years doing just that, she reveals on TLC's "My Strange Addiction," despite the fact that it is limiting her mobility and putting her health in danger.

"They're just sexy and sassy. I am considered a long-nailed goddess," Ayanna tells The Daily Mail. But it gets worse: Ayanna was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, meaning she needs to exercise, which is nearly impossible with her long toenails. And despite friends' and family members' pleas, she won't take out the trimmer. "They are 50 percent of who I am. I will absolutely not cut them," she says, calling her nails her "babies."
In addition to, well, looking ridiculous, Ayanna is forced to walk on her heels and climb stairs sideways. She can't sleep on her back or wear socks or any shoes except flip-flops, unless she cuts holes in her tennis shoes. Sounds like a pretty uncomfortable way to live, right? What do you think of Ayanna's toenails?
