There are same-sex colleges, but they are not overly popular. They have a niche audience, but I suspect there is little you could do to dramatically increase their popularity right now.
On the other hand, I think same-sex DORMS might be worth working on... I know many students (I teach college) who wish their dorm was same-sex. It *might* cut down on a lot of problems -- and shouldn't seriously restrict options for education or social life.
I went to a same sex college in Illinois. But I don't think that will stop sexual violence. I do think that going to an all girls college has its benefits. I think that you come away with life long friends especially if you are not sorority material.
you can't separate men and women completely, it's impossible. besides which, sexual violence is also perpetrated towards people of the same sex, so what do you do then, isolate everyone from each other?
