Willow Smith Gets Braces: Did You Ever Have Braces?

It's a rite of passage for most pre-teens, and Willow Smith has proven that she's just like any other 11-year-old. Will Smith's superstar daughter has been spotted with braces on her top teeth, The Daily Mail reports.

Willow, who has become known for her crazy hairstyles (the latest being a shaved head), was also seen with various ear piercings.

Perhaps she's straightening her teeth for her upcoming role as "Annie" in a remake of the 1982 classic. Jay-Z is doing the music and Willow's parents are producing.

"We're talking about us all starring in a film together," Jada Pinkett Smith recently said. "Will and I are definitely planning on working together in the next year. We're working on the 'Annie' project... But we're just producing that. And Jaden is finishing up a film with his dad now." Come clean: Did you ever have braces like Willow?

The whole nines. The metal stuff with all the wires they put on the most unruly teeth to straighten them enough to take braces (I can still feel the way the metal tore into the flesh of the inside of my cheek every time I smiled even to this day), then the braces themselves for about 2 or 3 years, and then a retainer after the braces to keep the teeth from shifting back. The entire 4 years or however long the whole ordeal took were hellish.

I had braces for 2 years, it sucked at the time, but ever since I got them off, at age 14, I have had beautiful perfect teeth. I love to laugh and smile so ultimately it was a good thing. Having self confidence is a good thing!

At seventeen I decided I wanted braces and my dentist put me on a monthly payment plan that I paid with my part time McDonalds paycheck. I'm so glad I did!

Don't worry, you're not alone. She looks very much like a young Will Smith, especially now with a shaved head.

I figured 80% of the kids have them. The way the orthodontists office is stacked with kids in them.

It doesn't look like she can whip her hair anymore

Most kids I knew had them for two years, except for one girl I knew who had them for three, and I had them for just over one.

No,my parents didn't have the money. Most children today, are wearing or getting braces,it's a fad! I think having braces represent that your "Cool" or a "Fashion" statement! Some might not even need them!

I'm not sure about the US, but in the UK if the dentist and orthodontist think you need them, you can get them. It's believable that children's teeth are getting worse though.
