It's a rite of passage for most pre-teens, and Willow Smith has proven that she's just like any other 11-year-old. Will Smith's superstar daughter has been spotted with braces on her top teeth, The Daily Mail reports.

Willow, who has become known for her crazy hairstyles (the latest being a shaved head), was also seen with various ear piercings.

Perhaps she's straightening her teeth for her upcoming role as "Annie" in a remake of the 1982 classic. Jay-Z is doing the music and Willow's parents are producing.

"We're talking about us all starring in a film together," Jada Pinkett Smith recently said. "Will and I are definitely planning on working together in the next year. We're working on the 'Annie' project... But we're just producing that. And Jaden is finishing up a film with his dad now." Come clean: Did you ever have braces like Willow?

"Willow Smith has proven that she's just like any other 11-year-old". Shes a human child. I dont think she was trying to prove anything.

I wish the author of this pointless article would have been out getting braces the day they came up with this snoozefest of a story. Wake me up when Willow "proves" she's a girl by getting her first period... zzzzzzZzzzzzzzzz

I didn't go to the dentist until I was 16 (4 years ago) When I told my dentist this she was floored because she said my teeth were amazing, for having never gone. The only work I had to get done with two teeth pulled. But THANKFULLY I've never needed braces!

IDK we always had health and dental insurence, but we just never went. But we always went to the doctors office. Super procrastination on my parents part LOL. My sister in almost 26 and she just got braces last year!

I've had them for about 6 months already. I'm also 20. Better late than never, right?

However, I also have the clear ceramics. Not invisalign, just clear braces. It's eh.

No, thank goodness. I skipped all of that and just capped them all which made them straight and corrected my bite. Saved about $7,000+. But...to each their own.

"Willow, who has become known for her crazy hairstyles (the latest being a shaved head), was also seen with various ear piercings."

All of which are irrelevant to her having braces.

No, I wanted them but they kept saying my teeth weren't bad. And they really aren't, but I have four teeth in the front I wouldn't mind straightening.

All three years in middle school, it was probably the worst years of my life. All awkward and painful, they were huge and uncomfortable and I was REALLY self concious about them LOL. I was also one of those people who had to wear a huge retainer to sleep every night, and then wear one for my first year of high school afterwards when I got them off.
  • MorganRae Jules 2012/06/18 17:52:56

I definitely think it was, because now I have beautiful teeth and I always get compliments on them when I smile. So in the end, yes I guess it was worth it. :)
