McDonald’s, one of the largest single buyers of fish in the country, said all of its Filet-O-Fish sandwiches and Fish McBites snacks will be made of Alaskan Pollack sustainably fished in the wild. And the company is willing to pay to prove it.
The fast-food giant will pay annual fees and royalties to the Marine Stewardship Council for the right to slap the group’s so-called ecolabel on its product packaging in its 14,000 stores nationwide.
Mega-retailers such as Wal-Mart, Whole Foods and Walgreens already carry products bearing the blue label. But McDonald’s said it will be the first national restaurant chain to do so, starting in February.

Then again, I boycott all fast food. I prefer real food.
Why not just wrap it in the same thing they wrap cheeseburgers in. We don't need all that extra packaging that goes right in the trash.
However, the idea of people attaching an economic value to methods of creating a product that minimize negative externalities (Like depleting resources) is a massive innovation in improving the state of the worlds economy. The only problem is that right now, that value tends to be attached to little more then gimmicks that make people feel better, but actually does nothing to limit negative externalities. In this case though, thumbs up McDonalds. I feel slightly better about eating there once or twice a year
Not sure I believe that's the case...
