People don't WANT to slit their wrists, it's just a way to cope with problems, which is inflicting pain onto yourself. It is stupid, but they aren't thinking clearly and are obviously having some problems in life. So, you can't really blame them.

But some people feel great emotional pain and find that physical pain helps them deal.
