Oh please I get so tired of the worn out arguments about supposedly grown men needing their AK47. Everyone is a lawyer and likes to interpret things the way they want to see them, bottom line no one needs the automatic weapons.
Well ,I guess you can call me a gun freak then, I enjoy shooting sports every weekend . I teach firearms safety to the public , and I also believe that no one should take away my right to own firearms any more than they should take away your right to own an automobile . Both are nothing more than tools that require proper training to be used legally and safely . We have different opinions, but that in no way makes either of us abnormal !
Hunting, hobby shooting, self defence, home protection. Did I say hunting? How about Hunting? You know, despite what some say, the government want nothing more than to disarm the American people. That way they can do what they want with no threat of resistance. Don't think that the US government is immune from the attrocities commited by other governments, we just havent had the right group in charge.
Not everyone needs one. In my case, I need about 30. You know, for every type of animal hunted, you need a different type of gun. I also have a couple of AK47s just because the government doesn't like it and I'm going to buy another, just because. I was a police officer for a lot of years, so I have a pretty good collection of law enforcement/tactical weapons. I love guns like some people love baseball cards or anything else of collectable value. I like guns that tell a story. I have a 7mm mauser with a 1942 nazi factory stamp that my grand dad brought back form europe. I've got my great great great grandfathers shotgun that is one of the first self contained shot shell guns made. I've got a winchester Model 70 bolt action .308 that was initially issued as a sniper rifle in Vietnam for the first couple of years of the war. Some people like to label us as "Gun Nuts" and wackos. Honestly, you wouldn't recognize me among 1000 people of your own choosing on the street. I'm a professional with a masters degree. I hope and pray that I never have to use a gun to defend myself or someone else, but I will if I have to. Sis, I'd even defend someone who hates me for owning a gun.
I can understand ownership of a shotgun for skeet shooting, a rifle for hunting, and a pistol for traget shooting or home protection, but I cannot see the purpose in an ordinary person owning automatic rifle or assault style rifle.
I don't own a gun of any kind, and I was rasied in home without guns
I shoot competive skeet, sporting clays and personal protection. So I need shotguns (and that is what is pictured) to particpate in the competions. I also shoot in handgun competions so I need handguns for that as well as personal protection. I also suuport the 2nd amendment and see gun ownership as a constitutional right.
Most people probably don't need them. I don't know what kind of gun you are showing because I'm never around them.
However, I do know many people who live in such remote areas that they could be needed for protection from wild animals. i know people who have encountered bears in their yards and who have coyote all around them. I certainly understand why they might keep a weapon.
A normal person who never has an intruder come in their homes and has to defend their life wouldn't. I tell you this much, someone comes into MY house to hurt/kill me, they will look like swiss cheese.

If you have rabbits then the sheep or cows won't have enough grass...
Farmers tend to hunt only to protect their stock and livelihoods.
