When I see all the tattoos all over the place I immediately think we are reverting to a primitive sort of culture. When I was a kid the pictures of those cultures with multiple piercing, distorted features, and dyes injected under the skin were interesting only by the fact that civilization had not come to them. Now it seems that tattoos even for middle aged women are common. Are they trying to seem cool or young? I once saw a cadaver that had been tattooed and it looked as if maggots had been at it. Do you want your surgeon to come into the OR with tattoos all the way up his arms? I just don't understand I guess. One day it will all look as if you were in a hell of a fight and are bruised.

I have 8 tattoos and can't wait for more. for me it is road map of my life my first tattoo was designed for me by my high school science teacher it is of a bat i got it on my 18th birthday. I have one of San Francisco's Hello Kitty I got when I lived there. And others. It is art. It is the one thing that no matter what (excluding dismemberment that I will take to the grave. They are beautiful (most are). I would not care on second if my surgeon had sleave tattos

I prefer Celtic Art myself. . .
And as far as my surgeon... I wouldn't care if he was tattooed from head to toe and had a face full of piercings as long as he could do his job.
I guess I qualify as a middle-aged woman who got a tattoo. However, I first wanted one when I was 20. I decided that, seeing the permanence of one, that I would wait 20 years and if I still wanted one I would get one. I now have a small decorative heart on my inside left ankle. Getting it had nothing to do with trying to seem cool or young any more than getting my ears pierced did. It is decoration.
and this is a great symbol of scandinavian heritage looks like art to me
I think you need to go visit a hospital to learn what real mutilation looks like because you obviously don't know.
I dont care much for the lip, eyebrow, nose and other body peircings ,, but to each his own....
Tattoos, when done right, are awesome.
I never understood why people have to go out of their way to hate on tattoos and piercings so much.
If you don't like tattoos or piercings, then don't get one.
Plain and simple.
What fad do you know that has lasted decades? I mean really.
I don't know why its so funny to you.
Which is my point.
