Assuming it's the same as the NHS, everyone pays a bit of money into, and only a small percentage of the population use it. i.e. Old folk.

When other age groups start using it there's a lot more money going out of the figurative pot, so people get all panicky because they have to pay more.

Good for everyone, even babies. Many people don't realize America rates 174 th out of 191 countries in infant deaths per 1000 live births! VERY far behind every "socialistic medicine" system in the world! Why? Because pregnant women can't afford needed prenatal care and medicines or procedures that would reduce these deaths drastically! Yesterday, a law was passed (and objected to), that will cut that down-- drastically! Romney and his "anti abortion" cohorts want to "kill the bill"...better to kill babies, than embryo's, I guess.

I was addressing the "Nationalized Healthcare" as a whole. YOU brought up the a$$ word and the crock insults. My "rant" has everything to do with "Why is National Healthcare System good for seniors, but not O.K for all other age groups?" Apparently I misunderstood your direction, as you apparently did mine. I stand by my points above, and apologize for my misunderstanding of your point.

There are less than HALF as many seniors, it is VERY expensive, seniors are a specialized practice of medicine (Geriatrics) , AND THEY HAVE PAID TAXES ALL THIER LIVES - - GIVE THEM A BREAK!!!!

In most cases, seniors live on fixed incomes, many near the poverty level and their age or health precludes them from working to provide for themselves. Most younger people have the ability to work, make a good income and provide for their own needs in life.

AND, many of us have LOST the money we expected to have when Bush tanked the economy! I've been lucky, I had a good Financial Adviser and have made just over half of what I lost back. (I was retired before the bottom fell out!) Imagine if we had put all our faith in the Stock Market as Bush wanted! I may well be on food stamps if he had gotten his way!

It's hard to argue with facts, isn't it. Jobs were outsourced LONG before the Dems took Congress. Money was borrowed (in exchange for American jobs and technology) LONG before the Dems took Congress. The interest came due AFTER the Dems took Congress. The regulations on Wall Street were ignored for the entire time Bush was in office. If the crash came while Obama was in office it would have been HIS fault NO MATTER who had Congress! Here we go again, it's ALL Obama's fault! Obama just HAPPENED to be in office after this happened! LOL!

No it's not all Obama's fault, both parties act like little children worrying more about their parties agenda and their personal future than that of this great country of ours. What pisses me off are people that place blame rather than learn from the mistakes that were made and find solutions. At your age you should understand that as well as I.

I do. Most are not as even handed as you seem to be, and I get bit touchy at those who say it's NOT any of Bush's fault, it's all Obama. It's damned hard to stop a huge downhill slide, and if ignoring regulations on Wall Street, and selling American jobs and technology to China and others to pay for war(s) that should have been paid for by taxes (instead of dolling out a huge unpaid for tax break to the rich),didn't cause the slide...then we still disagree.
