One reason is that people focus on what's been done to them in the past (baggage). Another is fear of commitment (each for their own reasons). Also, some people just don't want to love like they should or put in as much effort as their partner.

because yall are making it complicated. love is wanting to spend your best moments with that person, but ya have to stay together to do that! i say if you break up atleast twice, its done for. because atleast you can say you gave it another shot, but it didn't work out. how are you so sure you love eachother? because he says he loves you? actions speak louder than words.

I think it's quite simple really...it's a natural occurence that happens to two people at the right time in the right place,some simply have to wait longer than others and both partys must know what it is that they want and have a positive view toward the future together.

It's not complicated at all, when you are with the right one, then you put everything into your relationship and he does the same, with my hubby, he is the king of my world, and I am the queen of his, no exceptions, but we don't smother each other though, we give each other space, we have absolute trust and complete love for each other. We have been together since late 1999, my only regret is that we didn't meet 20 years earlier.
We have both been in bad relationships before, things are not always perfect, but we are perfect for each other, anything less is just not acceptable or worth it.

Because people are complicated. Maybe you're both in different places in your lives with things and now is not the right time. But, if it's meant to be, it will happen.
My hubs and I started dating at 18. He asked me to marry him and I said no. I wasn't ready. Three years later, a lot of things had changed and we got back together. This time when he asked I WAS ready and we've been together for 18 years now. Good, bad, or indifferent, everything happens for a reason.
