Why is it a man's responsibility to put the toilet seat back down?

Adi 2007/11/16 09:42:24
Because men are supposed to be gentlemen.
Put the seat back down? I never lift it up!
Shutup, stop asking why, just put it down!
If you fall in, its your own damn fault! Look before you pee, we do!
You!

I mean, don't get me wrong, I always put it back down, mostly for fear of losing my life...or an eye. But, why is it that we men can never win this argument. It is seriously a futile debate, their circular reasoning befuddles us and ultimately we cave in!

WHY???

Let me guess, she's probably used this excuse "it's 2 am and it's dark and I can't see..."

You have to be kind to the ladies!
Putting the lid and seat down afterwards is really only a 3 second thing... kinda like changing the toilet paper roll... DONT BE LAZY... thats just pittyfull.
You dont want them to fall into the water, because they dont look first... that would be horrible!

    DAMNIT IT MEANT TO VOTE:
Because men are supposed to be gentlemen.....

once again my vote has been foiled by tom-foolery...

When I sit down I look first and put the seat down if needed.

    WHY CAN'T WOMEN DO THAT???

They're degrading themself when portraying themselves as plain stupid, as a feminist I can't accept that.

On the other hand I try to remember to put it down mostly, and sometimes I forget but it's no big deal with us, she too, leaves it up sometimes.

Because we say "pretty please" and appreciate it more than you can know when you do. Believe it or not that is a topic we brag on our men about. And in between cleanings...the pot looks cleaner with the seat down! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who consciously work at putting the seat down!

My wife and I have four boys and three girls. We've made a compromise. Everybody puts both the seat and the lid down. That way, the girls don't fall in, and the boys don't forget to lift the seat.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Desperation is the father.

It should be passed in the Senate and made mandatory. Let's put our Senators and Congressmen to work for us. They have been doing jack, lately! We can call it "NO Woman Should Be Left With a Wet Behind!"

It's considerate and it's good hygiene. When you flush, a little water will 'mist up'. If your toothbrushes, cups, hand towels, etc. are in close proximity, well....
Anyway, it's a good idea to put the lid down too while you're at it.

It's their responsibility because they're the ones who lift it up in the first place. We're all responsible for our actions and a guy lifting the seat up and not putting it down is an action so yeah just get over it.

Under that logic then, if you put the seat down, shouldn't you put it back up?
