Why is female body hair considered unattractive?

When a woman has hair anywhere on her body except for her head it's considered gross, a "taboo". But with guys it's "sexy". I don't really see what's wrong with leg hair or armpit hair on a woman. Everyone has hair.

I don't know.
I actually like the look of armpit hair. But whether someone has body hair or not really doesn't bother me.

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to let my pit hair grow. It's gross, and it's just plain unattractive. At home in Italy, a lot of the older women don't shave. It's pretty scary.
