I light candles for the ambiance. I might be using candles soon with a possible hurricane approaching us.

Given my history of fires, one would think I would hate them. I have always loved candles, oil lamps, campfires and fireplaces, however. I have even decided I want to be cremated, and strangely (to other people), many in my family have also opted for it.

There is just something relaxing about candles or a crackling fire for me. I get lost in my thoughts as I stare at the flames.

although i do like candles, I usually use the warmers for scent. My mother always loved candles and i think i was just used to having them around.

Iam not allowed candles...... ex firefighter for a husband... the stories he can tell about house fires started by candles......

We don't around this house, don't need to push the envelope for fires. Having been through a house fire as a child and waking up in the middle of the night and finding your bedroom on fire gives you a sense of no flames around here.
