Why do you think cats are so alluring to people?

They're independent and you don't have to spend a lot of time fussing over them.

They are very sensual creatures whose affection and trust must be earned.

They are the ones who get love when they let you, they act as if they don't need you. They obey sometimes and othertimes if they could flip you off they would. Still they love so much. Cat are Cool!!

They are very sentuous and mysterious creatures. They have been worshipped as gods in many cultures.

There's something otherworldly about them...I THINK THEY'RE AMAZING!

They are not only cute, they have personality, they show affection and they are a sight.

They have a way of growing on you! I call my husband El Gato,he reminds me of a
cat."Because the Litter box seat is always up,and the food bowl is always empty! "But ya can't find him any other time! LOL

I grew up spending more time with my cat than any other individual. Add to that time all the time I spent with other cats, stray, feral, or owned, and I spent more time over all with cats then people. I know cats, they make sense to me in ways humans never will.

i have one myself. i dont have a problem with it if its not mean.

Very independent as far as maintenance.And they all have different personalities.I have three.One is very skittish,one is very affectionate and the other is very outgoing.

Allergies

First of all, in kitten stage, it's not easy to dislike that face or the antics of that kitty. Then, when it grows up, it's not as cute in entire body, but that darned face is still there.

I think lots of people prefer cats, first and obviously because cats pretty much take care of themselves as far as pets go. But then, getting a little more into psycho babble, cats are finicky creatures and it is a challenge all the time to get one of the little devils to come up and give YOU attention. And then it will sit there only until IT wants to leave and you can't hold it there. So it's constantly a double-dare-you situation, which just keeps you caught up in the cat game.

They can be whatever they need to be. They can be needy, making you feel loved, or they can be independent pets that you only partially own. They imitate babies, but when they need to they can be vicious.

Mine has never been indifferent at all. They are in your face demanding of attention constantly. I have been a cat breeder for over 30 years.

Perhaps mine just aren't as needy as yours.

I have had over 35 cats during my life time. They have all been like that. I depends on how you treat them.

Just below the surface is a wild animal ... cats can turn feral quickly if they have to ... they never loose their hunting instinct ... they seem to hang around only because it's easy ... they may become your friend never your slave

Mainly because they possess such beauty and feline grace-and such wonderful athleticism.Watch a cat walk along the top of a narrow fence-so sure-footed-or even "climb" up" the sheer wall of a house as many do just by dint of using their strength and claws-and you will see what I mean.
Oh,and by the way, as you can see by the profile pic. I am a "doggie person" in essence but that doesn't prevent me understanding their "allure".....!!!

Cats pull tons of crazy acts when you don't expect it. They dash around the house faster than thunder, they jump all over the place, they pounce on anything that looks stringy or moves slowly, and some of them lose their minds when you give them catnip or some other plant that plays with their senses. Plus, they put up with so much bull crap

They are independent,cunning,dont smell like the dogs,although I have dogs too.They are cute,and they have their funny ways.This is one of my cats.
