Why do you never see a female hobo?

i think because females just don't hobo around and leave their husbands and male friends to it o.o as sexist as it sounds females generally care more about their appearances and wouldn't want to look like a hobo :\

I see our local hobo Linda everyday. She just forgets her name, and where she lives....and what she's doing.....poor Linda.

lol! one time on my way home from school, i saw her at the park and she looked dead so i grabbed a stick and stating pocking her and then she woke up and scared me and I ran home screaming! lol! that was so funny! lol! good times, gooood times...=]

I've seen them before, there's just more males...
From what I've found, they become prostitutes for money and that's how they survive. It's rather unfortunate. =\

i've never seen one, that i can remember...but then, i don't see them often. women are probably a little more proud than men, and don't sleep in the streets where people can see them, if they're homeless...

I travel many times a month from Kansas City to St. Louis and Springfield, MO on Business matters, and about 95% of the time when I get to the outskirts of the downtown areas of these Cities, I always see Women and Men pushing shopping carts, or draggin` duffle bags or toting boxes, the Men outnumber the Women by at least a 75% to 25% ratio, but we even see homeless women in K.C. under the overpasses with young children esp. during heavy rain or thunderstorms.

I have. She was grifting with some cups and a rubber ball dowtown. I also saw one sleeping on a hot air vent in Toronto. They are a rarity, but I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate the use of the term hobo.

I worked at a coffee shop several years ago, and she used to come in every day for a cup of hot water, and put her own tea bag in it lol. I saw her again last year and she was still wearing the same horrible jacket.

Yeah. She couldn't be doing too bad though, she looked as healthy as she ever did when I saw her again, which was oh...about 8 years later.

You don't see hobo couples either.
