Why Do Straight Mariages Get Rights, But Gay Marriages Get Barely Any?

People are just foolish and can't accept people who aren't like them. :/ But, in Spain, Netherlands, Argentina, South Africa and a few other countries that I can't remember, gay marriage is totally legal and they have all the rights that the straight marriages have. Brazil is almost there with that law too. They're just waiting for congressional approval to legalize gay marriage.

I am confident that this will change soon. We cannot preach about equality if there is none can we? I couldn't be happier then to go to my first gay wedding <3

I don't know. I guess because some people don't believe in gay marriages or don't think that they should have rights for whatever reason. But I think that they should though.

Straight marriages have reasons for their marriages. This will be seen in many ways as children which is stilll seen as being a positive result. The marriage itseld=f will spend money that is being made, it will pay taxesand will hold n=back the night from the land.

People are afraid of change or have been raised (such as catholics for example) to believe that is a sin and that it should be between a man and a woman. It all depends on how you grew up and your view on things. Obviously most not all gay people will support gay marriage and equality for all. But others will not. Change, and fear and the two main things. And this thing called homophobia (which are those not comfortable with their own sexuailty).

Because we haven't given them such rights yet. You do not necessarily deserve rights. You can fight for them, and they can be given to you, but you don't necessarily deserve them. We'll all decide together.

I think it's because gay marriage is different, something people don't want to look at or hear about right now. I myself support gay marriage, you just have to understand that there are many more discriminative people in the world than there are open minded ones. But the open minded ones do exists, and you can't forget about them because they are outweighed by the closed minded ones.

Marry for money? You shouldn't marry for money. But if you do marry for money, that doesn't make the institution itself bad. Larry King's eight wives married for money. He shouldn't have married 8 times. But that doesn't make marriage itself bad. It makes what he does bad.

I'm not progressive, nor do i see marriage as sacred, because of how frequently people forsake such supposedly sacred vows no longer is it till death do us part, but till the money runs out do us part. What your doing is Reductio ad absurdum, by equating gay marriage with incest or child marriage when it's not as foul. Personally i support marriage as long as it's by consent, and theirs no incest involved, granted I hate how gay rights activists try to draw attention to issues in the wrong ways, they should take themselves more seriously if they want people to take them seriously and pandering to stereotypes with those parades is not that way.
