Some people say "blonds have more fun." Perhaps it's jealousy.

A stereotype perpetuated by the media and ironically endorsed by many blonds. Why, society is still evolving when it comes to gender roles, some women prefer to be the cute, naive, hapless, girly goldilocks & evoke a protective stance from the males of their social tribe. I've heard girls attribute there mistakes to 'my blond side' or blond moments, despite the fact their naturally brunettes. Marilyn Monroe, an iconic dizzy blond, was in fact brunette. The reality is hair colour & intellect are not correlated but self esteem & choice of hair colour might be more telling.

I won't speculate with regard to my own intelligence, but my sister, of the many women and girls I know or have known, is one of the brightest, knowledgeable, and rational. We are both blonde.

In general, the stereotype doesn't seem to hold up at all. For instance, one of my blonde female friends is the president of a pretty considerable software enterprise. I have yet to meet a blonde girl who acted significantly dumber than anyone else.

I don't know, but I've met a lot of smart blondes in my life too!

It is believed to be because back when being blonde (especially with blue eyes) was the pinnacle of feminine beauty, it was assumed that they relied on this physical 'advantage' and neglected more intellectual advances. There's no scientific basis for the stereotype :)

Many blonds in my opinion are perceived as dumb because of the contrast they try to fit in in high school so much, therefore making themselves dumb down to fit the picture of someone else being able to feel superior around them and hanging out with them more.

They aren't actually dumb, but blondes have lots of estrogen in their system, so they are much more feminine than other hair colours... apparently.

Yeah, it is a stereotype and certainly there are some really "dumb" blondes (as well as brunettes and redheads, so don't get bent out of shape). I worked with a really "dumb" blonde who came into work one day and asked me if I could figure out why her pager had weird numbers (yes, this was a long time ago). Me-"Did you get it wet?" Her-"No" and 2 seconds later..."Well, I did accidentally wash it in the washing machine." Me-"Well, that's probably why it's broken."

Another time: Her to sales manager-"I'm sorry I was late, my car was broken into." Sales manager-"But you drive a jeep and it's always open." She was pretty funny. She asked me why I didn't wear lipstick at the office and I was like, because I'm not really trying to impress anyone. Her reply-"Don't you want to feel pretty." She was a hoot!

Trust me, you're pretty much the only 15 year old I've ever seen that has any common sense! Whatever the reason is that Blondes are dumb, it doesn't apply to you. :)
