Why do some Christians get INSTANTLY offended when you question their religion and throw petty insults at you and act like it's going to prove a point?

Thanx for using some instead of all.Um, I'm a Christian and when someone offends my beliefs, I just be nice and tell them to treat people with respect and all. However, thanx to the.....not-so-smart-people in my faith, they make all look bad. They're SO ridiculous, when while they're arguing the contradict themselves. I geuss....I dunno, they defend they're beliefs because they love God......and then end up making themselves look like...meanies?O_O? I dunno...

Good question. Maybe they lack the faith or just don't really know how to answer. I've had a few people question me about my faith and blatantly insult my religion, but it doesn't bother me. I'm pretty sure God exists and I can't really explain it either, it's more of a feeling anyway. Now, I've also came across folks who don't believe in anything and they get really angry if someone even mentions God. Why? I don't know. I don't see why it would be offensive to them if they don't believe in it and are not being pressured about it either.

Because they are afraid that they are wrong and they block out other people's viewpoints because that is what they are trained to do.

No idea. However, whenever I present a logical reason for why I do not believe in their religion, they insult me and essentially ignore all logic. It's like logic and common sense is lost on some of the more...eccentric believers.

Actually it is more so Atheists that do that rather than Christians...I never criticize any persona religion, EVER, including the Cult of Atheism. Also, what do you expect for someone to do when you criticize their religion??? You have Buddhists, Hindus, Rastafarians, Astrianists, Pagans,Muslims, Judaists, etc. I would expect them to defend their religion at all costs from PEOPLE like you.

Because *some* Christians aren't sure themselves and to hear their doubts spoken (written) sets of their fear :P sucks for them, so I let them tell me what tehy want if it makes them feel better.

There are multiple parts of the Old Testament where god commands believers to invade the villages of those that don't follow their religion, kill them and take their property, among any number of other heinously barbaric things across both the Old and New Testaments.

Seeing as I was raised in a Christian home and still have a Bible in my home for reference, I have found out the truth. By reading the damn book instead of taking everything the preacher says as holy writ. Have a good one, drone of the Zombie Son of Yahweh.
