Many choose abortion over adoption because they can not handle what is happening to them. They are not mature enough and they are selfish. I also believe if they go through the pregnancy they may fall in love with a baby they can not raise and still try to raise them...either that or they will feel they HAVE to do it and then do a horrible job of raising the child.

I am for adoption. Many people want babies...there aren't enough babies to fill those voids. If I am ever to adopt, I will not be adopting a baby, but a child. One who no one else wants because I want them. I have plenty of love to give them and I want to give them my love and share my life with them. A child who is "unplaceable" is the one I want. They are the ones that need the love and homes. They may have a harder time adjusting and trusting, but I am the one that will be able to prove to them they are loved and their life is worthwhile.

I beliebe it is murder. I think most choose abortion out of selfishness NOT all but most. I agree with abortion when they are victims of rape/incest which I have been a victim of rape but chose to give birth and keep him. It takes a strong person to do so but it was my love of life and children that helped me. I never looked at my son NOT once and thought back to the night he came to be but...I can understand others that fear that very thing.

Because there are too many kids that are considered unadoptable because they are too old. I, personally, would choose an older child to adopt, because I have done the sleepless nights and endless crying for no apparent reason. I found that I have become a better mother since my kids became vocal about preferences to colors and food and sickness and comfort.

I have seen so many news stories about people that abuse and kill their children for stupid reasons, if there are any reasons given. These people might not be the smartest about things like how to give up a child for adoption, so they just deal with it, but they suck at being parents.

Those same people could have saved the child a short life filled with pain and suffering, not to mention saving the tax payers from having to try and imprison them, if they just knew that they had the option of having an abortion.

Abortion, while sometimes called "legal murder" is, in my opinion, optimal when the child is just going to be a target for hate and resentment from its parents and die brutally in a few years. I read a new story recently about a woman that beat her child with a cord until he died because the 4 year-old wet himself. This woman had been investigated several times by CFS for various complaints about her treatmen...

What if she had gotten an abortion instead of overwhelming herself with a third child? She probably wouldn't have lost custody of her other children, because she wouldn't be in jail right now for murder.

The answers do not match the question......"Why do so many people choose abortion over adoption?" .......why they have been brainwashed for so long that...1) unborn are not human so they have no rights to live, 2nd..their lack of control does not mean they also have to be responsible for their actions and 3rd with no moral guidance )God in their lives) anything goes even murder of the unborn.

Abortion is murder period. I believe many women choose abortion because they bought into the lies that it's not a baby but a cluster of cells. If you choose adoption it may be an emotional journey as you choose to give your child parents who can offer them more than you may be able to, however, knowing you also choose to give your child life instead of the death penalty is very rewarding in itself!

I look at it as (other than rape) "You made your bed, you lay in it". If you didn't protect yourself its your fault and an innocent life shouldn't have to suffer for it. So why not adoption. The child can be with a loving family instead of no family at all.

No offense to those who choose abortion but I think adoption is a better solution because it does not involve killing YOUR OWN BABY
I understand that in some cases such as rape it may be hard to not abort, and i understand if those people do not want to have the baby as a reminder of that event but its not the baby's fault so don't punish your unborn child, give it to someone who wants to have a kid but can't

Many women with unplanned pregnancies don't want to go through pregnancy and childbirth/Cesarian delivery. There are risks associated with pregnancy too, and plenty of nuisance factors also. And, many women actively fear childbirth--courtesy of the f--king media. fear of it has been shown to directly lead into difficult and prolonged labors.

because there is only one reason for abortion period. the reason I think so few people choose adoption because poeple are so crule and mean to those that come in and wonder what to do. Girls who are just unsure are not given the benefit of the doubt to choose the better option, they are bombarded with the crazies from both sides. I can make a judgement here because I have lost a child to that mistake!

My dad and my aunt (twins) were adopted. I like how their story turned out. :-). I guess people choose abortion bc they r broke or scared. :-/ it's the fastest way to end the unearned pregnancy. So, maybe that's why. Prolly would be best to only have relations w a man who can support the child and that wants u in his life.

Adoption is not a solution. If it were, there wouldn't be so many children failing in foster care. It's a band-aid, not a cure.

Education... is very important. If you educate women and men and make contraceptives readily available, pregnancy is less likely to occur. Less accidental pregnancy equals less abortion.

Abstinence is a fine ideal, but I still feel kids need to be taught about safe sex, but many don't and wont choose abstinence.

We as a people, who claim to believe in God...and claim to be pro-life and believe in what is right...should not opt to kill a newborn...not just because it is termination of human life without legal or just cause..... But because we might just kill the child who would have been the scientist who found the cure for our most devastating maladies, or the scientist who found out how to produce food enough to feed continents without causing harm to the environment or people....or who might have been the next great bringer of peace, or the greatest statesman of all time.....

The choices given were pretty dumb. I am not for either. I believe a person should have a right to choice for themselves, and it shouldn't matter one whit which I would pick.

For my family, we'd keep the baby. We want another, so it's a no-brainer. For someone else, it's really not my business. Adoption requires a long commitment to this child, loss of work income without any hope of getting that money back (so financial strife for the woman's family), and not very good odds of the baby getting adopted.

There are lots of reasons why a woman might choose one over the other... And I don't think it's my job to judge them -- whether I understand their position or not.

I think it depends on the person. Different women have different feelings, so I honestly don't think there is a simple answer. I question, what I call "The Double Standard" of our definition of a Fetus. Anti-Abortionists, believe that life begins at the time of conception. Maybe things have changed, but when I miscarried, at 21/2 months into my pregnancy, I was told by a member of the Clergy, it was not a "death", because it did not live..it was an act of God. I never could understand that...IF this was a life, then my Baby died...If this was not a life, then my "fetus" never was alive...sound a bit like hypocrisy?

I know; I'm a man and can't imagine what it's like, but it seem to me that the main reason is the girls/women don't want to 'ruin' their bodies with a full term or feel they couldn't give up the baby to someone else.

Abortion is a selfish act . Adoption is an unselfish act. Adoption is an emotionally tough thing to do, however a loving family more than willing to take a child and raise it as their own is better than a death sentence for a child any day of the week. Heck even crappy parents are better than being murdered in the womb.

Adoption gives us a chance at life. Is it always the best life? No. But at least there is a possibility. I have adopted two beautiful little girls that could have been aborted and never given that chance at life. I love them with all my heart and thank God every day that He chose me to be their father. Adopting them has not only been a positive thing for them but for me, my wife, and our whole family. Adoption affects everyone not just the kids being adopted. I suppose you could call it the "butterfly effect". :)

Remember, life is a gift from God not a choice of the mother. How could a mother sentence her own child to death? Compared to the worst murders you've ever read or experienced, this tops them all. How? Think about it. A mother happily kills her child when she should be the only one in the world willing to give her own life to protect it!

Abortion is genocide -- it must be stopped!

i love babies alot i know that some girls or women that do abortion its because they arent ready for a baby or just never wanted one i mean there might be other reasons also but anyway just the thought about a baby getting killed even before hes alive in the outside world its just wrong u never know how much u would have actually loved the kid but they never give it a chance

I'm one of eight great people who are grateful to our mother for making a multitutude of sacrifices for us till the day she died. Many women don't see abortion or adoption as a option, and I pray for them in their struggle and applaud their choice.
