Why do people post "good morning" and "Good night" posts?

Just curious here. There are some people whose questions I get who EVERY SINGLE DAY post a good morning post and then a good night post. Why? Obviously when you've posted a good night one, you're signing off, so you're not going to be there to respond to anyone who might answer. And what does one reply to that, anyway? My suspicion is it's a point collector, but I'm willing to admit I may be wrong. What's the point? (Can you imagine if everyone did that? We'd have so much to delete before we could get to the interesting questions... oh wait...I do that anyway....)

+1Fair enough. I can see saying "I'm back" if you've been away for a while, or "goodbye" before you go.reply - darlene FencerCat 2012/04/29 17:02:21
