Why do people leave trash when a receptacle is so nearby? Isn't the beach for everyone to enjoy, why do few not get it?

Lazy, Thoughtless .. Drunk/Under the Influence ..
(another pet peeve of mine on the beach is those who put their cigarettes out in the sand and can't be BOTHERED to pick those up either and find a trash can)
Just nasty things that never learned to pick up after themselves ..

It is NOT that difficult to bring a spare bag ..
put your trash in it during your visit to the beach ..
and then when you leave ..
DROP The entire trash bag off in the TRASH CAN/Dumpster at the locale
as you go back towards your vehicle ..

I live next to beautiful beach...kind of remote...usually only locals until summer.

What cracks me up is that I find the people who do this are the same people who will chain themselves to a tree to save the forest...they are usually from the city, are dressed in their hippie garb with their dreadlocks and consider themselves naturalists.
THEY ALWAYS LEAVE THE BIGGEST MESSES.

Then the locals go out after tourist season and clean the beach.

Whats worse than trash on a beach...

both HUMAN and pet...buried in the sand...for you or your child to step in with your bare feet...the people don't want to leave their beach party drunkfest to go to the bathroom, provided by the locals....and EVERY tourist walks their dog on the beach...and NEVER picks up after it.

No one cares, lazy, they obviously feel they are above walking to or waiting until they see a trash can, etc Probably the same people complaining about being green, global warming, etc.

Lazy! It's the same mentality as the people who leave shopping carts in parking spaces when most shopping centers have a bunch of places within a walking distance to bring a cart. Normally I don't say a word about it unless the lazy F places it in a handicapped spot. That's beyond thoughtless.

People are very thoughtless indeed...
When I do litter, I am always concerned as to if it will bio-degrade quickly or not... for example some small papers will, plastic things mostly, will not.
