I'd like to revise my answer a little more....

I don't believe women chose pricks for partners as much as they select an ALPHA partner, who can be interpreted as a prick... here and there. It is a primal attraction and DNA thing. it goes back to the beginning of time... where the female selects her mate based on his ability to protect and ensure that the offspring survive... the Alpha Male typically is a strong leader, and this meets this need and elevates the females status within that community irrelevant of the species of animal they are, human included.

Nice guys, right or wrong, are interpreted as weak and without boundaries because they will do almost anything for the female... this gives her the perception of power, and defeats the whole primal DNA she has and can't fight....

But not all Alpha Males are pricks..... but all Alpha Males are emotionally secure, clearly in charge of their own life, and may be perceived as pricks by those that don't understand.... and that folks is your biological history lesson for today. love and light. BTW, I am a LION for a reason. I am an Alpha Male.... and I am gentle and kind because I can be.... but not always.

well, it starts at boyhood, where they realise: "hmm, if i dont sympathise for people, ill have more time to think about power rangers!" and they stay like that and as a result puberty and life in general fails to mature them mentally.

because they are afraid people will see who they really are, and how they really feel... and they want the world to think they are tough because they are really sensitive caring people that are afraid of being humiliated, teased, belittled, beat up. the works.... immature.....

Good question i should be asking you women same thing why do you pick pricks over nice guys and here is why of the pros and cons of being pricks and nice guys.

Pricks
pros:relationships,sex,respec... get cheated on,never get betrayed,she won't leave them for and she loves the challenge to change him into the guy she want him to be and mystery,she thinks he is hot or she say it this way he is such hottie and you women want what you can't have,she always come back for more i can go on and on but i stop there for now.

Cons:she dumped you if she is brave enough and she marry nice guys for money not for love is are all i can think of at the moment.

Nice guys
pros:get marry when and if she have kids she wants you even though the kids is not even yours(i guess it's pros and cons) is all i can think of at the moment.

Cons:you think of nice guys boring,too nice we only get marry when we are virgins and we will get her left over aka none virgin women and she don't want sex after marriage,she more likely cheats on you with bad guys,back stab you and she wants to change jerks from bad to good kind person which never ever works and you complain about no good men when you overlook us true nice guys like me is all i can think of i can go on and on so i leave it here for now.

Don't say it's a lie here is part of my research http://www.steven-k-craig.com... and i can give more to prove farther bottom line jerks have longer relationships but nice guys get marry and never gets laid,respect love,relationships so if you want a nice guy then pick him first then maybe you get a true nice guy.

And if i can say more i will i keep it here for now and that's why i have giving up on women and start decreasing my niceness and start attracting women by continue my research and yes I'm nerdy geeky guy who still live with my parents and i know you hate guys like me :).

For my answer it's more likely here in America and western society on the western side in most cases and they worship jerks,bastards,thugs,criminals and scumbags and yep they also lost their morals as well don't ask why is this because i really don't know and no i didn't say all i mean in most not all.

On eastern side i don't know yet at the moment :).

"Nice" guys are just too freaked out by women to hook up in the first place. If you can't assert yourself, you're a non-starter. That's true in all species, btw.
