A very, very valid question. With the advent of the internet, over the past few years, it seems that we're becoming more and more angry, more and more hate filled towards people who don't look like us, aren't us, etc... Can someone please, tell us why we can't all just get along?

Warning:
Video IS NSFW. Very opinionated, but about 5 minutes long. Pretty decent question and things to make you wonder what's going on here...

War is the natural state of things. Peace is an aberration. Nature shows us that on a daily basis. Humans are biological beings and, as such, we will always be competing to maximize our comforts in a world of limited resources. This, necessarily leads to conflicts which must be resolved, either peacefully or violently. The free enterprise system allows for the peaceful possession and use of limited resources using a merit-based and incentive-based system of rewards and punishments. All other systems (communism, socialism, etc.) require a violent resolution of possession and use conflicts based on needs, without regard to merit.

...we're humans. Humans have never gotten along. They never will. Unless we all forfeit our humanity and become cyborgs, which would be pretty cool BTW.

I'm sorry if I insulted your religious beliefs but I think it's because of religion.

Human beings have never got along from the start of mankind.
That's why man invented religion, to try and get people to stay in line, but we see that din't work either, and in some cases made things worse.
The smarter we get, the better advanced we get, the more we want, because it takes more to live.
So we fight each other for anything and everything that we can get, that you don't have, Lol.
I have found that the best possible life is to live around less people, a small town if you will. It's less stressful and a more enjoyable life, because it's less corrupt and there are less bigoted and greedy people.

To a degree, you're right. Humankind has been pretty much screwed from day 1 in that respect. However, I don't see this as prevalent, say, from 80s up until around 2005 or so. It REALLY became noticeable, especially in the U.S. once Obama came in.

I'm not saying Obama is the cause of it (though he's not helping much with his rhetoric, finger pointing, arguing, storming out of the room like a child when he doesn't get his way), but it's when I first started noticing it a LOT more. Something happened then, or maybe something just didn't happen right. Not sure.

Oh, and I fully agree with the life in a small town bit. I love living in the midwest. Life is cheap (enough), work isn't hard to be found, if you want to work, and people are (generally) reasonable individuals... Coming from places like Seattle, Portland, ME, Anchorage, it's a huge, huge difference.

Well I can only speak for myself, but I saw no change after Obama took office.
I have seen this type of humans not getting along since before I was born in 1955 (history tells a percise story about how we act twords one another).
I am not a democrat or republican, I go with the Green Party, always have because the Green Party is the only party that wants to put the power of decisions back where it belongs, to the Americans who live here, not a select few like we have now.
I see the attitude of Pro-Foreign Nations our biggest problem with our political leaders, whereas they should be more Pro-America.
I see you also enjoy the bennifits of living in a small town and all that offers to peace of mind.
Don't spread that around, Lol, I enjoy people visiting my town as it is right on the ocean, but please don't move here, Lol, I myself am greedy that way, Lol.
I hope for you and yours the best my friend.

I'm not an Obama supporter by ANY stretch of the imagination. But, Obama isn't responsible for changing human nature. It sounds like you just weren't paying attention before. It's always been this way.

We don't want to see the U.S.A. destroyed like Obama and his followers do.

So , you would say that he deliberately wants the US to fail? Interesting. What makes you think that?

I'm not saying he hasn't helped it (greatly) towards the path of failure, but not so sure about deliberately, or wanting to see it fail.

Ha, if it were only that simple, and one man being replaced could turn everything around.
But it's not, and Americans just might replace Obama and see things really don't change, they just become different, but Americans will still suffer, just in a different way, but the same crappy government we have now will still be there my friend.

That's because the democrats and the republicans are just about the same thing, which is pro-foreign nations, not pro-America !

There is only one party that actually wants to give power back to Americans to run America, and that's the Green Party.
But to many 'don't want to see' the truth because they follow their party no matter what.

Personally, I don't see any party at all being for the country, but that's just me. I see them all as politicians, dedicated to party line and party ideals, and have yet to see a candidate that is different. However, I have no problem admitting that if I do see one , they'll get my full focus, no matter what party they're from.

The partisan system is part of what's kept the gridlock going, which is why Washington never took part in it. He knew what would happen, and that it wouldn't be good for the country at all

Every human being deserves a say in the decisions that affect his or her life and should not be subject to the will of another. The Green Party works to increase public participation at every level of government and to ensure that our public representatives are fully accountable to the people who elect them.
The green party wants to bring government back to when Americas political leadershp started, to the local people to mandate their own communities, not the federal level of a cookie-cutter mandate made for all.
Local government, like your local city hall making decisions for YOUR community, For the people who live in that community, as every community is different.
If you have time, please take a look at the Green Party Platform.

I agree. And some take things way, way out of context... Like, for example:
"I support traditional marriage". Nothing offensive in there at all, yet look at the hate it brings.

Except that being "right" and "wrong" isn't all inclusive. It's not a reason to hate, it's not a reason to attack someone else. You can be right and wrong and still get along.

I think it's a great question. One I don't have an answer to. I mentioned to a couple of my "best friends" that I felt I don't have a choice in the upcoming election and now both of them question and contradict everything I say. How could I not choose to support their candidate? How dare I not cast my vote for the incumbent? Seriously, I'd love to be able to go into the voting booth and pull the lever for someone I feel is the best candidate for the job. Unfortunately the powers that be in this sorry two party system don't give me that option.

Kind of like my example of voting against him in '08 (and this year), because of what I came up with in independent research. Oh heaven forbid I have an opinion, it's a "race" thing, now.

You're right though. To quote Will Mcavoy (from Aaron Sorkin's 'The Newsroom', which is an awesome show):

"We didn’t identify ourselves by who we voted for in the last election ", which is , sadly what people are starting to do as well.

I did write that before listening to him, but I stand by my comment.

Our political/government system is designed to not only attract psychopaths, but to actually create them. The result is a whole class of self-proclaimed 'elites' who honestly believe they are superior to the average human being.
Do we REALLY need 'leaders'? Can't we all run our OWN lives without the 'assistance' of self-styled leaders? The best government is a WEAK government with power only to suggest and cajole.

I can agree with that assessment. Unfortunately, all of our leaders fall into the authoritarian category. We may never find a leader that isn't a member of the status quo. I've only ever heard one claim not to be, and we see how that worked out.

That's not even possible any more honestly. The internet has pretty much killed off that option. Just look at Chick Fil A , and the hate they get simply by giving an answer to a valid question. Right, or wrong, there was no hate in there, but my God... it's just wrong!

Of course, they're not the only ones getting this, just the most recent example.
