I'd say you put your finger on the problem by being part of the problem. What's with this poll? Only two answers with no possibility of an 'undecided' or a simple 'I disagree'?
And as to blockers, I see libs blocking all the time. I belong to several groups of liberal bitching and most of the polls I'm not allowed to comment on because I'm blocked. Granted the people that blocked me aren't prone to debate much less have the skill set either.
Foxhound, we're friends because I respect your opinions (I usually don't agree but you have the right to pursue them) and occasionally you make a valid point. This isn't one of them. Well unless you just like to debate nimrods.
Hey, I've seen plenty of rwnj that I ignore too. "Oh crap, there he goes again!" Stuff like that. But debate, at least here on SH has been reduced to name calling since obamanation got into office. This has become more of a support group for your favorite team than any real debate on issues.
And as we all know, obama can't talk about his record or issues...he let's the MSM do that for him.

I am so sick of these blocked polls. I look at the demographics and it's 1 liberal vote vs 100 conservative votes, and plenty of nutjobs raving them up the hot list. It's cowardly, chickenshlt, and it's supported by you cowards and chickenshlts. This site is overrun with people that have no character, and the site puts their BS on the web supporting them. It's pathetic.

However, to go and say that this argument only applies to Conservatives is a gravely mistaken idea, as there are people on the left who also act in similar ways. You've met Conservatives who you deem cowards, I've met liberals I'd say are cowards.
There are many more Cons on SH than Libs, so maybe by sheer volume you're right, but I've seen a lot of biased polls written by Cons (1. Yes, Libs are all liars; 2. Yes, Libs are all haters...) where honest debate isn't wanted -- just another opportunity to rant. SH itself is often guilty of not posing issues in a debatable way.
We may have our occasional rants, but if anybody wants to debate or discuss our rants, they are free to do so. Of course, that's not to say that such conservatives who act in such ways don't exist. They are by far, a minority when you consider all conservatives in Sodahead, and of course the entire country in general.
I most certainly always allow discussions on my comments. In fact, I, like many other Conservatives out there, encourage such discussions.

One poll choice is "Yes, socialism always fails," the other is "No, socialism always fails" (my words aren't exact). Obviously no real discussion is expected, just people agreeing with the author and ragging/ranting.]

The average cons to libs ratio i've seen on sh is about 3 to 1. okay? but look at the lightning reports and demographics and you find polls like this one:

The first claimed to have a postgraduate degree yet I found him to be incapable of understanding simple English, unwilling to research a point even when I provide the links to government documentation, and his typical response was to stamp his foot, holler "I'm right! I'm right!" like a two year-old throwing a tantrum.
The second likes to interject meaningless comments without ever offering an idea or even the simplest of facts. Actually tracked him on one discussion and he offered up snide little swipes at others on 9 occassions without ever offering anything of substance. He seems some what like a 3 year-old who interjects himself into the adults' conversation, blurts out a profanity and then runs out of the room, giggling.
Bear in mind the type of folks you're dealing with. Realize that when they block you from their latest 'Cum bay yah sing-along' it's the intellectual equivalent of them picking up their marbles and goin' home because they were getting their butts kicked!
And before somebody whines about using screen names, including the SH staff, I'm merely attributing direct quotes to their authors. Wouldn't want any cases of mistaken identity
