I was brought up to hate gays and i did till i started seeing more of them come out in the open.My whole view about it turned around when i ended up in bed with a guy and loved it.
I havnt had many male lovers but the few that i did have was fantastic.Im Bi and i love it.
There will always be people that hate us and some will disagree with us just like everyother topic.
I also dont believe that men who gay bash are homophobic and wish the were with a man.
    It is what it is.
love people hate disagree everyother topic gay bash homophobic gay lovers

Its really much better than it looks.

I reckon lots of them just want to fit in - well, at high school anyway.
  • JanHopkins 2011/05/09 06:42:06
Why do some people like to believe that they are more tolerant than others? Probably for the same reasons.
  • Chambers JanHopkins 2011/06/03 06:57:50
Some people are more tolerant than others, no arguing that. The question is: Why? Check out research on the exaggerated amygdalas in the brain of the ultra conservative versus the larger anterior cingulate cortex in liberals. traits such as homophobia, racism and sexism are easily grouped into fear, threat responses - it has nothing to do with rational thought.
  • JanHopkins Chambers 2011/06/03 14:10:08
I find that a little bizzare. If you line up a dozen people all dressed the same you can't tell who is gay and who is not. That seems to indicate that it requires rational thought to have a postitive or negative reaction to gays.
  • METALheadMom 2011/05/09 02:14:11
JUST because straight people do not fawn all over gays and worship them, does NOT make the "homophobic". NO "racist" judges people for SKIN COLOR. SEXIST people DO always have reason WHY the are that way - it just takes a psychiatrist to explain. YOU SHOULD NOT USE ALL THESE "BIG WORDS", AS YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY EVEN MEAN!!!!! What do you call someone who cannot STAND people who use words they do not know the meaning of????
  • frankie... METALhe... 2011/05/18 03:35:39
and no they arent homophobic bc they dont "fawn" on us. im saying my dad is homophobic because he hates anyone who is gay. he says being gay is wrong and talks about how he is happy the drummer from a band if dead, only bc he was gay. THAT is what i mean by homophobic

Some people fear or dislike anyone different than them. It's quite sad.
  • randy 2011/05/09 01:16:55
People don't fear homosexuality. They just disagree.

Are you asking why do people reject homosexuality as just another lifestyle? Is that what you are asking? Or are you asking why people fear homosexuals? I don't of anyone who actually fears homosexuals. The word "Phobic" means "fear of." People who disdain the homosexual lifestyle do not fear. Why do you, respectfully, ignorantly confuse the two?

    Specifically what are you asking?
  • Rave Simmeri... 2011/05/09 16:05:47
In the context of homophobia, the phobia can also mean intolerance. Homophobia is a word of it's own, separate from the meaning "Phobia" alone. It does not literally mean "fear of" homosexuals, though it can mean fear or intolerance of. Same with the word "Photophobia" which is a medical condition that means intolerance towards light (Very sensitive eyes) but it does not mean "Fear of light" even though it has the word phobia in it. Context is important.

However most people who disagree with homosexual claim that they are repulsed or disgusted by homosexuality, and disgust is a form of fear psychologically speaking, as it's located in the fear center in the brain. Fear can come in many forms, it doesn't have to mean the sort of Fight or Flight kind of fear which makes you scared, rather fear can also just make a person just feel slightly uncomfortable.

    Nancy pelosi stretch

Phobic does not mean intolerance, not in a social context. End of story. When you have to start reaching into ophthalmology text books to justify the homosexual agenda, well, that's a stretch, don't you think?
  • Rave Simmeri... 2011/05/18 15:22:10
Phobic does not mean intolerance, you're right. But the term homophobia is very widely used as being intolerance in a social context, most people do not actually think that people intolerant of homosexuals are literally "scared" of homosexuals, and that is not why the term was created either.

"But the term homophobia is very widely used as being intolerance in a social context..........."

Only by liberals. Conservatives don't use that language. A traditional standard is not a phobia.
  • Rave Simmeri... 2011/05/29 21:03:00
Conservatives or any individuals intolerant of homosexuals generally don't like to accept the term homophobia at all as it's viewed as quite a negative thing to be labeled. Such as many people intolerant of other races don't want to be labeled racist.

However, every time I have heard the term homophobia used it has been used to describe someone who is intolerant of gay people. Never have I once heard it used to describe someone who was literally "scared" of gay people.

im asking why my own father would hate me because of something i cant help. im asking why people disagree with people, just because they arent like then. because they arent "normal". what is normal anyways? what makes a straigh person more normal then a bisexual? or a white person better then a black? what makes people think women should stand around in the kitchen, while men go out a fight for our freedom? why cant people all just be treated equally?
  • Simmeri... frankie... 2011/05/17 08:08:04

Because men and women are not equal. And they never were meant to be equal. Men excel at things (physical) and women excel at things (nurturing). That's the way nature is. What's this bizarre obsession to make everything equal?
  • frankie... Simmeri... 2011/05/18 03:02:22
its not an obsession to make equal. its a curiousness of why things cant be equal. and for men being better physical built....thats not true. i know some guys that are twigs and girls with a lot of muscel

maybe i dont wanna get over it. thats like telling a person who disaproves of gays that their child is gay, u can tell them all u want. but they wont listen

It doesn't matter if you get over it or not. The fact of the matter is men and women are different.
  • frankie... Simmeri... 2011/05/18 12:04:00
i get that they are different. but why should two people be denied the right to be together, just because theybare tge same sex?
  • Chambers frankie... 2011/06/03 07:07:19
as I said earlier, tendencies to homophobic, sexist or racist views stem from an exaggerated fear, threat response, which can be due to socialization but has been - more recently- found to be correlated with an exagerated amygdalas in the brain. While the more tolerant brain tends to have a larger anterior cingulate cortex.
  • moody Simmeri... 2012/04/07 09:13:05
Yes, men and women are different but if a man and a woman have the same qualities for a certain job. A chance to get that job should be equally given to both the man and the woman. I do not want to talk about biology everyone knows.
