Why are certain religious people so hell bent on converting you to their beliefs?

Because they believe that they must be good people, their church teaches them to spread the "good news", so they feel better that they're "saving" you, the one who doesn't wanna be saved -.-. pisses me off, too. But if they share the goodness, they feel better and are therefore better people...NO MEANS NO.

For Christians, it's basically a case of following orders from Christ Himself.

He tells us clearly and directly to "go and make disciples of all the nations" (Matthew 28:19). Those words were spoken directly to the first apostles, but they apply to every Christian in at least some way.

I don't think the wording of your question is accurate. First of all, I think describing people as "hell bent on converting others" is a bit over the top.

Secondly, and more importantly, Person A cannot convert Person B to a religion. It's Person B who must convert him/herself to it. Person A may initiate things or invite the other person to look into their religion, but at the end of the day, Person B has to make the decision.

Because they believe they are correct and just want to "save" you. Or their church is getting torn down because people are starting to use their brain.

I think it's because they are so sure they are right.

Because they honestly believe that doing so will make the universe a better place, often by getting you out of some sort of punishment, and usually because they believe people of their faith are just better. They tend to be wrong, of course, but you'll never convince them of that.

Very little has to do with faith, many in my experience has to do with assurance that they are right and you are wrong. They do this by trying to discredit your beliefs. In their mind its a win/win exercise - if you convert then their superior arguments have won out, if you don't convert then you are too foolish to see the truth and not worth their time.
In other cases they are afraid they are wrong and want to publicly demonstrate their trust in their belief. This is similar to the story of the Emperor's New Clothes.

Because they are so brainwashed into that anyone who doesn't believe will go to hell. (but if you ask me any god who will send a good person to hell simply for not worshiping them is an evil god that does not deserve to be worshiped). That they need to save people even those who do not want to be saved.

So they can feel better about themselves.
