This girl is extremely consistent on her vault. Seriously, she had landed 30 something vaults cleanly in competition before she fell on her butt on second vault in event finals. Despite the fall, this girl is friggin good and performs the Amanar really well. I don't really like the style of the other gymnasts, and that's more because of changes of the sport than anything. I prefer the gymnasts who were elite prior to '96 when they still had to train and perform compulsory routines. Look at Svetlana Khorkina, Sventlana Boginskaya, Shannon Miller, Betty Okino, or Hennie Ododi. They are so much more elegant than what you see today (and could consistently stick slightly less difficult dismounts), although I did like Nastia Liukin in her athletic prime. Gymnasts today are too inconsistent and lack elegance in their routines. Difficulty is what is rewarded, so the gymnasts have such hard routines, they can't consistently perform them well. Bring back compulsories and reward elegance and artistry!! There's no need to perform routines so difficult no one could possibly perform well regularly.

Gabby Douglas of course!! Women's All-Around Gold. Woo-hoo!! And, as others have said, she gave all the Glory to God!! Her direct quote was, “I give all the Glory to God...the favor comes from him and the blessings fall on me." What a beautiful girl, inside and out.

Of course, detractors are already on the attack. Via Salon, this is what one said: “I would like her more if she were not so, so, so into Jesus.”

Her vaults are absolutely amazing. It's a shame she isn't more well rounded because I'd love to watch her do more events.

She's my favorite of this current group. She's humble, peppy, and seems just like a nice girl. Now my favorite Olympic gymnasts of all time are Dominique Dawes, Shannon Miller, Kerri Strug, Carly Patterson, Nastia Lukin, Shawn Johnson, Nadia Comaneci, and now Gabbie Douglas. Congratulations Gabbie on helping team USA bring home the team gold and on winning the all around gold.

For me the most intriguing gymnast has to be a Hungarian vixen by the name of Henrietta Onodi.

One of the most graceful gymnasts ever. I love her old bar routines.

They are Amazing, I remember watching them in the 80s and 90s. I was so obsessed with their movies. Some of the worlds best gymnasts.

You should have seen the look on her face when she found out she won... she was in complete shock because she knew her life would never be the same.

I like Gabby because she opened doors for a lot of the African American Gymnast. Very much like Dominique Dawes. Go figure, Dominique Dawes is Gabby's hero!

Aly is from my state. It takes a community to get these athletes over there, and then they have to pay taxes on their medals. Phelps has a huge debt..... Aly is just amazing and the community adores her.

They are all beautiful, extremely talented young women, but, Gabby topped them all.
