Who's Less Moral, Men or Women?

Women are still lagging behind men in at least one area ... rule-breaking. According to recent studies, men have lower moral standards than women, especially when they have to defend their manhood, Scientific American reports.
men women moral
Studies show that men are more likely than women to minimize the consequences of moral misconduct; to adopt ethically questionable tactics in strategic endeavors; and to engage in greater deceit, Scientific American reports. In other words, whether you're engaging in a business deal or choosing a life partner, you might be better off trusting a woman.

Guys are especially likely to be "immoral" in when success means proving their masculinity -- and yes, the workplace and the playing field both come to mind. But we have to wonder: Are guys more likely to engage in this sort of behavior because they're still more likely to be competing in these arenas than women? Or are men intrinsically more immoral? What do you think?

I loathe to admit it(due to the fact I'm part of that sex) but we must face that men have made a more public show of a less than perfect show of proper moral fiber.

In this day and age that question is a real toss up. This current generation has less moral values and hardly any faith so to me in reality it is a pretty close tie.

You don't need faith to have morals, as it seems many of the people who truly lack any sort of moral sense are also fairly religious.

We're about equal. Also, notice how mostly Females voted Men.
Men also voted the most for men. What does that really say about men?

I would actually say that overall, men and women are equally immoral. It is a basic fact of human nature.
Getting down to the differences... Men apparently do things more that are immoral in appearance. Women apparently think about the immoral action and either hold back from actually doing, or do so more subtly.
People tend to look only on the outward appearance and so the consensus is that men are more immoral. However, God looks on the heart/mind, and has stated quite emphatically that if you actively think/contemplate it, you are guilty.

Could not answer the question above because my option was not represented

ACTUALLY Romans 3:10 says " FOR " ALL" have sinned and come short of the Glory of God So Spiritually all humans Men and Women are in the same boat.

It's hard to say who's worst because one would have to compare all men against all women to have a truly honest answer.

WHO WAS WORST IN THE GARDEN ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE? ADAM, EVE, OR WAS IT ACTUALLY SATAN WHO DECEIVED EVE?

Satan was already condemned, Both Adam and Eve sinned against God by disobeying so both was punished

Agreed that my option wasn't listed (but I picked one in order to comment.)

As for who was guilty in the Garden... There were 4 guilty parties.
1)Satan, as you say, had been previously condemned and was again/still guilty.
2)Eve entertained the temptation, misquoted God, acted on the temptation. Later, when confronted tried to pass blame to the serpent.
3)Adam stood by and let it all happen without lifting a finger or his voice to prevent disobedience and then join in said disobedience. Later, when confronted, tried to pass blame to Eve.
4)The serpent allowed itself to be used by Satan.

    Result...
1)Satan still condemned. His ultimate defeat by Eve's descendent (Jesus) prophesied.
2)Eve cursed to want authority that belonged to Adam (and that characteristic passed on.) Cursed to have painful child bearing. Prophesied to be the G.G.G....grandmother of the eventual Savior (Jesus.)
3)Adam cursed to have a tendency to avoid the authority that is his responsibility (and to pass on that characteristic.) Cursed to have to labor to earn a living (whether direct via farming or indirect via business/employment.) Cursed to pass on the sin nature to descendents.
4)Serpent cursed to change form. No longer would it be the intelligent, beautiful speaking creature that it was created as (aka dragon.) ...

From then on it would become the lowly snake... low intelligence, forked tongue, slither on belly and eat dust. Further prophesy indicates the typical enmity between women and snakes and ties into the prophecy of the coming Savior (Jesus.)

Women hate each other out of envy. Men, at least do it for a legitimate reason.

Ted stole my girlfriend, therefore Ted is a douchebag. Man logic.

Emily is prettier than I am and has nice clothes, therefore Emily is a whore. Woman logic.

That is true about the girl part, but guys do the exact same thing as I've seen and heard from fellow male friends and relatives. They just aren't as extreme about it as woman. In general, I think that's mainly due to low self confidence or insecurity and guys tend to have more pride.

I really do not think either ( only depends on each individual ). WHY!!! are studies like this even being done? Should we not be doing studies to help people not put one or the other down? Who is paying for these studies? Which sex is better, which party is better, what color is better, what nationality is better, what color hair is better, and what whatever is better? We need to have studies on health issues ( you know the ones that degrade our life or kill us ), on better teaching techniques, how to purify our air, how to better care for animals, how to better care for our planet, these and other studies like those are needed. All mankind does anymore are studies to find the slightest wrong of anykind in everybody else...well....STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!

Your point is invalid because you can't compare abortion rates to anything similar that men have a chance to chose. Men cannot be pregnant; we cannot even hypothesize how they would react when faced with the "crisis pregnancies" that cause women to chose abortion.
  • MarinerFH Michelle 2012/06/20 02:55:34

The question is one of morality in all things. Is there anything more immoral than intentionally killing one's own child? Of course my point is valid.
  • Michelle MarinerFH 2012/06/20 19:28:29
    Michelle
Again, even if there is nothing more immoral, as you say, MEN DO NOT HAVE THE CHANCE TO COMMIT THIS ACT, SO YOU CANNOT ARGUE WOMEN ARE MORE IMMORAL BECAUSE THEY DO SOMETHING MEN CANNOT DO. The morality of it is bad, but men cannot have an abortion, so you cannot use the "50 million women committed this act and much less men" because men physically cannot have an abortion (nor get pregnant in the first place). Abortion statistics are not a valid point in this argument.

Men seem to be just as adverse to abortions as women. There are male abortion doctors. Men pressure women into abortions. Men don't generally feel Post-Abortive Depression (it exists), so they can't even "learn their lesson" about abortion the way women may after they have one. Historically, men killed unwanted infants just as much, if not more, than women. In China, gender-specific abortions occur against females (something that I'm sure the men are more likely to decide than women).

I'm not arguing that men are worse, just that the abortion statistics do not prove that women are worse than men. We do not know how abortion statistics would be if men could get pregnant, and I won't propose a hypothesis except that they would likely be about the same.

2 wrongs do not make a right. It's specious to justify 1 wrong because of a different wrong.

    Both sexes are equally immoral.

Was this just a generic response? Because I think you missed the point of my post...
  • MarinerFH Michelle 2012/06/21 01:54:56
    MarinerFH
I understood you perfectly. Understanding is not the same as agreement.
  • Michelle MarinerFH 2012/06/21 03:14:53
    Michelle
But I was not implying that two wrongs make a right, nor trying to justify abortion. I tried to clarify why your "point" proved nothing, and then tried to explain that men have a negative impact when it comes to abortion as well; it's not just women's fault. I ended my post with the fact that I was not arguing that either gender was worse, just that your abortion numbers do not prove your point. So, what, exactly, in my post, were you responding to?
