Who's Less Moral, Men or Women?

I never have read a Hebrew translation, so that could be true in that case. It is not in English. Part of the problem with Bibles is that there are so many rewrites and different versions.

If the Bible was not written by early MEN, I would perhaps humour this point. But it was written by men.

The Bible is NOT cold, hard fact. Adam and Eve did not exist. Genesis does not make sense. It is early man's way of explaining the existence of the universe around him, and, in this case, justifying his supposed dominance over women.

look, morals are rooted in religion. The question was who is less moral, well before sin existed, the first to sin was woman, causing all of us to default as sinners according to the book, which is the direct opposite of being moral. I am Atheist, so I really don't care, but ask and I will answer.

So because man blamed the existence of sin on women, women are more immoral?

The Bible is the book of morality. In it sin came from woman who convinced man to follow. That is all I am saying. This whole question is silly, Watch Maury Povitch for a month, see if men are more or less moral, then do the same with the news. Jerry Springer, count em' up and see. Perception is a funny thing.

They sleep with whoever, cheat, party it up, and act however they choose, and it's alright cause they're "just being guys." ...Smh.

They are raised to think / feel this is okay. We live in a society that allows and promotes it and if females respond sexually - which is what males want - then, THEY are thought of badly. (It's a double-standard that I discussed in a topic I created).

Women are "urged" to be sexual-looking or acting, then will be called "whores", (as was suggested here somewhere). We need to begin a revolution.. (Wait.. I think they tried that.. it didn't work.. women were thought of as "unfeminine" if they wanted equality in all areas). Though, this led to "sexual freedom", the "pill", (which men benefitted from - "free sex, no pregnancies"). Then, all hell broke loose with Orgies, then AIDS surfaced and people stopped having sex.. for a while. But one thing for sure, things haven't changed.. Sexuality is one big mess still and is the cause for a lot of problems, though it wouldn't have to be. (Sorry for getting carried away).

They really are. No, I agree fully. It's an awful double-standard.

Well, strictly in terms of criminal activity, unless women are just much better at not being caught... but majority of threatening assaults, murders, rapes, robberies, shootings, beatings etc. are committed by men. One could argue that women are immoral in other ways, but still when it comes to the worst crimes, they tend to be committed more by the male gender.

Actually truth be known both.

It wouldn't have to be this way, but it is because of society's expectations. Women are taught that they need to be responsible, nice, and others-centered. Men are taught that they need to succeed at all costs and that it's okay to be self-centered. It's one of those things that gets passed down from mother to daughter and father to son without anyone realizing it.

Oh, I just touched on that above. Psychologically and Sociologically, we are really messed up. How can things change without them being taught differently? Everyone would need to be on board for change.

Sexually, Morally, Monetarily.

It won't change until men are held accountable to the same standards and not revered, as in their actions being 'heroic'.

There should have been a third choice, "both". Human beings are all an immoral species; it does not matter what gender you are. We are all both immoral and hypocritical insects in general, so that does not make anyone perfect.

That's not a very fair question, either gender can be immoral, and what moral code are you basing it on? Shari'ah, Biblical, Utilitarianism?

But I think either can be just as immoral. I don't believe men are just automatically more immoral than women.

It depends on the individual.

There are people with poor morals in every race, gender and religion but I know a lot more men that hire prostitutes, do drugs, beat women, abandon their children, sleep with countless partners and sexually abuse people.

The more I read here, it makes me think of such primitive, self-serving behavior.

men are better compartmentalizers, so they are better at locking moral slips in a mental strongbox. they are also subconsciously terrified of getting castrated, which makes them need to defend any impugning of their manhood. even when no one is impugning it. the only reason they have ever run the world is that they can beat us [women] up. women, like all underclasses, have developed craftiness and sharpened their intuition in response. also, we're not afraid of the Big Snip.

The way I see it, the man in this scenario is being true to himself. The fact is, they both just want to fu*k, but the women has been conditioned into believing that just screwing without attachment makes her a whore so she feels like she needs to make herself believe that it's more than just a one night stand before she screws him. I find the way we hold women to different standards than men when it comes to sex to be immoral.
