Who's Harder to Get a Gift For: Mom or Dad?

My mom is impossible to buy for. She will deny this with her dying breath. She is so hard because she buys nearly everything that she wants, gives them to my dad to wrap, then opens them on Christmas. I think my dad buys her 2 or 3 things per year, and half of them get returned for no apparent reason.
Perfect example: Christmas a few years ago, my dad bought a Tracfone for her with a year contract and 500 minutes. They had been talking about her getting a phone for months and she didn't want to be tied to a contract. So, he did that. And she returned it, after flipping out at him for not consulting her on it. 5 months later, she bought a phone. A Tracfone. Nearly identical to what my dad had bought her. She bought it because they where going on a cruise and needed to be able to contact us if something went wrong. To this day, not one word was said about what kind of hypocrite she was.

My dad is easy as hell to buy for. Anything to do with Red Sox and he will be happy as hell. Or tough Sudoku puzzles.

Dad of course, they're always kinda picky.

It takes alot of thinking and guess work to get something for my mom. She NEVER knows what she wants. Same goes for her birthday and xmas.

If I had to pick. It's actually easy...if I got them anything at all, it was a card. But I've done without them for a long time now.

I have a very distant relationship with my dad. So he doesn't count...

It's hard buying for a mum who isn't girly, who doesn't like flashy things, doesn't really wear jewellery. Get my dad some tools, and he's happy, mum is the difficult one.

Actually both my parents are easy to shop for. Dad is happy with tools mom I just get stuff to match her other collections that she has going on. If I have no money ( and I usually don't ) Dad I make a chocolate cake for and mom I make breakfast for.

Can't get him a hat every year... Three times a year... (Christmas, his birthday, father's day)

It's definitely harder for me to get a gift for my dad now being he passed away in 2008.
It always harder for me to pick out a gift for a man than it is for a woman.
There are so many things you can buy for women. There's hundreds of accessories
and many household items that she needs. That's why women never get bored of shopping. LoL. I'm going with dad / men on this one.

I think that the real question is... Are you a boy or a girl?

My dad doesn't care much for gifts, mom does

All I have to do is get my dad a plate of his favorite food and he's like this: ^_^
Get mom the "wrong" thing: *takes it back and gets what she wants* So I give giftcards and I haven't been let down yet!

Mum's impossible because frankly, I'd rather not waste my time or money on her.

Dad? He's always been easy to get things for, I understand him, and I actually care about him.

Neither really, because when you know your parents like a book you don't need to worry about that. I know a lot more about my Mom then I do over my Dad and what he calls his horror shows his "classics" but on the plus side me and my Dad agree about one thing life though.

Because also being a man, I have more of an idea what Dad would like.

A mother of course... A father is happy with just a 6-pack of beer and a couple of hours of QUIET...

Mom, because she likes specific chocolate. dad just gets anything and will be happy.

Not just my mom and dad... But Dads in general are kinda hard... Most Moms are usually satisfied with Flowers or Chocolate... Dads get a little difficult... I guess most like tools and electronics, maybe shirts or shoes... I suppose. lol... (This is implying that we're going with the "Stereotypical" gender roles)... Not all men are the same, just like how not all women are the same... But this is just saying in general...

or he doesn't want anything at all, which makes it even easier.

I think it's the mom because dad wouldn't care what you get him. I never had a father in my life so that is one thing I don't have to worry about.

Because there's no way in hell I want to get a gift for that bastard. For father's day I give a present to my Uncle who is my father figure and damn is it hard to choose something. Mother's day is so much easier to shop for.
