Who's Better at Parking Cars: Women or Men?

If you're a woman, you've probably rolled your eyes at all the jokes about how women are terrible drivers -- and parkers. But a new study says females are actually better at parking than males. So, take that, stereotypes!

According to a new study conducted by the U.K.’s National Car Parks, women are more skilled than men at maneuvering into a parking space, msnbc.com reports. They are also more talented at finding empty spaces, accurately lining themselves up before starting to park and more likely to reverse into a spot.

"Women fared better in many areas of the scoring," the report said. "This is despite the fact that, when questioned about their beliefs, only one-fifth (18 percent) thought they were better parkers than men and less than a third (28 percent) of women believed they were better parkers than their partners."

However, speed is not women's strong suit when it comes to parking. Women were found to take longer than men, but to do a better job. Do you think these study results are more or less accurate? Or do you think dudes are better at parking? Women are known to have more patience than men, which does help in a parking situation ... but we've seen plenty of guys parallel park like it was the easiest thing in the world.

I do fine in parking lots, but I stink at parallel parking. Most of the men I know do it far better than I. But that's just me.

Well, I guess the proof is in the study. However, I will say it probably depends on an individual of any age or gender. It does bother me when people park crookedly. This is not the example I wanted, but I hate it when a driver just seems to swing into a space, not considering how they are ruining it for others trying to park.

I hate to say it but this sure is my experience. I've never met a woman who could parallel park, for example.

Well let me guess depending on how many guys there are to gals on here the votes should be approximately equal to that amount. As long as no-ones sucking up , the guys will more then like vote Men and the girls women. As for me Im a gal, so well as you can guess I think women are the better at parking cars! :)

in our situation I am much better.When we come to somewhere where we must parallel park my husband jumps out of the car and I scoot over and get the job done. He can't parallel park to save his poor little soul.

Men and women differ because of environment, training, and such... some women can park much better than some guys... of course... but in general, I've known men to park better than women.

It doesn't surprise me that this showed up when I searched for "female valet" images?

and it also doesn't surprise me that someone made a business of sexy female valets

Men do it good enough the first time. Women take there time with it and make it perfect, like their make up...their clothes and so forth. This study proves nothing except the well known fact that women take too long to do anything.

Man like to fight. They fight with the car and the gap until they get it. Many fights (and some losses) makes experience. Woman want to go shopping, not fighting a car into the parking space ...
