It was really never that simple. My Pop was a TWA Pilot so was away flying often He was a management pilot so he was home a fair amount Overall that meant my Mon ran the day to day and she did it brilliantly! She also made my father know he was king as well.

Later in life I learned just how strong my Mother really was in all that. There is no doubt Pop was king but Mom was the true fabric of it all!

They really shared the pants!

If it is important we both get a say if we disagree completely then my fiance gets to make the call. If it is small stuff I tend to get my way if he agrees or doesn't. Its pretty much the same way for my folks.

My wife and I agreed early on that she would make the little decisions and I would make the big decisions. After 26 year I just KNOW that a big decision is going to come along sometime soon!

Not all the time, but in mine and many of my experience; mom was all about being responsible, do your homework, stern punishments, eat healthy, etc...

Dad was all about fun; up until a certain point in my case.....
