Through my life i have witnessed domestic relationships and the people that were involved in them were really close to me but eventually they got away from those negative lifestyles. So is there anyone who wants to vent and just express how they feel?????????

Does it have to be PHYSICALLY abusive? If not, then I have.

Never witnessed one - and I wouldn't get involved in someone elses unless I knew ALL of the details. Yes, I ALLOWED my ex to verbally and physically assault me more than once. It is MY fault for allowing him the target to let his anger and personal issues out on. Abuse is NEVER "right", but the statistics on how many people suffer from abuse, could be drastically reduced if these people would GET OUT the first time anyone victimizes them - but they don't.

I lived with an emotionally abusive woman for about a year-- never knew anyone like that before. I just figured it was a temporary thing-- that she was insecure about a new job, the war, her disapproving father, my outgoing nature, etc.

It was all about jealousy-- which I'd never dealt with up close before. No idea how many games she played before I wised up and got the hell out of there. It all culminated with a brief, fake pregnancy and a fake abortion.

I don't mind admitting I'm wrong when I am, but this was 100% HER. Haven't hooked up with anyone like that since. If my "games detector" goes off now, it's over... no matter how perfect she is in other ways.

Felt kinda good to get that off my chest. Thanks! :O)

Socky - yes, the woman clearly has issues she ignores and takes it out on whoever puts themselves in her way, but your situation was NOT ALL HER FAULT. You supplied yourself as a target, because you did NOT remove yourself from her immediately. Counseling teaches you this. Breakdowns in relationships are RARELY all one sided. I'm glad at least you learned the warning signs - my ex never gave me any indications he had mental issues.
Some of us have to get burned in order to learn!

Heh... 'once burned, twice shy' as they say. Kinda scary to think something like that can get past your radar if you don't know enough to expect it.

And what I meant when I said it was "100% her" was that she'd totally created all the suspicious stuff in her own warped mind. I did learn from the experience. :O)

I know it was hard to tell your story. People can be so hurtful and cruel but good thing you got out.
