It has been a ridiculously hot summer, and when temperatures are over 100 degrees, it makes sense to wear the least amount of clothing possible if you have to be outside... right?

Coincidentally, the record breaking heat coincided with a resurgence of short shorts in the fashion world, and as always, we can thank celebrities for being trendsetters and showing us how to wear -- and how not to wear -- the reinstated fashion trend. What do you think, SodaHeads? Do you love short shorts or are you not the biggest fan of this summer trend? I can't wait to see the gender breakdown on this one...

Just wish they were available for men too. Mens shorts are too long these days. Would love to go back to '70's shorts. They were actually short, unlike today.

By San Diego standards, none of the models in the 4 pictures provided is wearing short shorts. Compared to what I see when I walk a local shopping mall for exercise, they are all wearing long shorts.

I love short shorts, they're super cute, especially with the hot weather we've had, but not to the point where your butt cheeks show...save that for the beach...
