I love a good fruit cake, although they can be hard to get right, I haven't baked one, but friends have said it takes abit of practice to perfect them.
As a paper weight, jack stand for my car, chock for the car to keep it from rolling. Give me some time I'll think of a few more uses. Eating it won't be on the list. I've never met a fruitcake that I liked.
EEEWWW!! That store bought fruit cake is nasty most of the time. I make my own if I'm just DYING to have fruit cake. I hate that crappy candied fruit. I ususally put in lots of nuts, raisins, dates and apples in mine. I love it like that. I just can't stand that candied fruit.
What is it with Americans and fruitcake. In Britain birthday, wedding,Christmas and Christening cakes are all fruitcake covered in marzipan then icing. We love the stuff, then there's Christmas pudding which is a richer slightly soggier version cooked over a steamer. American fruitcake is not the same as the British version but we'll send you the recipe.
People love to insult it no problem more for me.
I use this to hide the taste of fruitcake
