Your picture nailed it. Unlike Adams, GW was not all ego. Unlike Jefferson, GW was not a profound hypocrite. Though he had some failings as a general, his perseverance and dedication are why Americans aren't still speaking with British accents. Had he not had the integrity of Cincinnatus, we might never have become a democratic republic. I'd put Franklin in second place.
