Al Gore invented the internet and global warming because he is a brilliant scientist. During his sophomore year at Harvard he earned a "D" in Natural Sciences 6 (Man’s Place in Nature). Also, as a senior at Harvard, he earned a C-plus in Natural Sciences 118.

Actually, the military invented the internet (not as we know it today), but it was the many colleges, library databases and the telnet system.

It was, however, AOL, that made it a permanent popular fixture for everyone.
