My parents set a good example, which helped me find a companion who accepts me for who I am. Now we set the good example for our kids and encourage them to be the best them they can be and to never compromise themselves to make someone else happy.

I was inspired by a significant other -- a man who tortured me and my kids for 20 years. He told me that I was nothing. He told me I was worthless and ugly. He told me I was stupid, untrustworthy. He told me I was a whore. I still hear him to this day. I know that his voice is the demon in my closet that drives me to prove that I'm nothing at all like what he imagines...

I have to be someone else with my parents, I never paid attention to celebrities, my friends made me who I am a lot, but my boyfriend really help me accept who I am and that I'm beautiful no matter what, so I felt free to be myself with him because he loves me unconditionally.

Weak, or lacking self esteem.

Some folks get beaten down by life and perhaps aren't weak - but yeah, some are just weak... But It's sad to have to look to others for validation what ever the reason.

I DO, who the f*ck sais I need someone else to inspire me, thanks for including it as an Answer..

I would have to choose my friends, because well, I chose my friends because they are like me, so when I look at them I see parts of me, which in someway at some point of my life helped me inspire myself.

Other than that, Tupac, but I consider him a friend, instead of seeing him as some celebrity I could never be anything like.

So I guess celebrities. But my favorite singer isn't really a celebrity 'cause I don't know if she's "well-known," per se, but still yeah she is the most inspiring to me ._.

At first could think of no one in particular. Perhaps a combination beginning with my parents then ending with recently-acqured friends.

But if I had to pick out just one personality that sends the message of "to thine own self be true" it could well be Randy Newman. In terms of creative free expression that just gets to the heart of the matter I can't think of anyone that can pull it off like R.N.

What a wild and crazy guy and underrated genius.

just me, & sometimes my parents & friends. celebrities are the last people to inspire me, they're just people who are overpaid to do what lots of other people could do, & they're actors, they just say what u want to hear, so u can buy their products. Good friends stick with u no matter what, celebrities don't do that, they just care about money.

Paris Hilton is a celebrity and she's been everything but an inspiration for me! Gaga really inspires me to be me but I've never thought of her as just a celebrity... Besides, friends are the ones who trully give you the courage to find out who you are and show it to the world!

All of the above, starting with parents because they taught me not to be lazy. My ex spouse molded me through his career. Dr. Phil has made plenty of applications I try to remember. Friends haven't inspired me, but they stick by me.
