It's about that time of year, when high school graduates prepare for the next phase in their lives: College. For many students, it's an uncertain and unpredictable stage. They're starting over in a big way, but know it will be more uplifting and exciting than the transition into high school. College is that ephemeral life-limbo where Facebook started, where "Animal House" took place, and where you (supposedly) decide what to do for the rest of your life.

Whether you're going into college, went to college "back in the day," or are hoping to go at some point in the future, take our 6-question Quick Poll when you get the chance and let us know what your experience was like, or how you expect it to play out.

I actually believe it's a person's own life experience, which includes all of the influences you list here.

Parents need to take control at a very young age and talk to kids about Politics, especially if you are a Republican because schools do indoctrinate kids to lean to Socialism....it makes me sick to my stomach!

I went with teachers because what I believe is directly correlated with what I know. And my Teachers were the one's who taught me to find out as much as you can about a topic before you make up your mind about it. My parents taught me more about how to respectfully engage in debate. My parents were staunch conservatives, at least up until we got a conservative county executive.

Where is the internet option? At first yes Parents do influence political views but once you begin to inform yourself you decide on your own what your political preferences are and whether they are Pro-liberty or Pro-Statism. I'm Pro Liberty myself but I also know that a whole lot of people that are terrified of individual liberty because it means self responsibility and they need a Big Daddy/Brother Government telling them what to think, say and do.

I'd say media more than parents. Really, it's a more effective way to get messages across, even if it's just a shirt or banner.

There's a lot my mom and I disagree on politically. I'll listen to her views and she mine, but neither have changed one another's.

Nope, not my parents, but you did not have a logical choice of other, or the real answer, which is ""ME"".
That's right, "I" am the biggest impact on my political point of view.
Unlike most Americans who vote for someone based upon what their political advertisements say, or how famous they are in a field that has nothing to do with government of the people.
    Well like it is now!

Media only in the most negative sort of way. Did it occur to you that we can think for ourself and do our own research instead of 'trusting' something/someone else to do it for us?

Myself. I chose teachers because, in retrospect, it was actually mentors who kind of had an impact on my point of view.

For me none of the above. Both my parents are conservative but both of us kids are very liberal. I think what influenced us are just researching things and formatting an opinion on your own.

When my Father lost the farm I grew up on I realized that debt means that you dont really own anything.
Debt and monetary policy are the roots of public policy errors and most significantly influence my political views.

Parents have tremendous impact. If parents are very conservative one is likely to become a conservative adult. On the other hand the opposite can happen. We could have liberal or conservative parents who cause us to go in a different direction by learning from their mistaken beliefs.

I was lucky enough to go to school when George Washington was still our national hero. I've also been smart enough to learn my history from historians interested in the TRUTH!

Although I was not given my option. None of them, I find information out on my own. And form my own opinion. Don't get me wrong I listen to my family and friends. However I only try to pull fact from what they are saying.

I feel like this question is rather pointless. When I was a kid, naturally I took what my parents said into account, but my mother is a social liberal and my father is a fiscal conservative. So I had two very differing opinions that I heard on a regular basis. But never once did they say "This is what's right," as far as politics went, only gave me their opinions. Now I make my own decisions based on what I hear and see, as free from outside influence as possible.

Anyone who really allows any of the other choices on the list to influence them in any major way shape or form has a bigger problem going on. Namely, the inability to think for themselves.

In listening to both sides through the media, you just get a broader view. So the biggest impact would be me with the help of the media.

more like my own opinion. people may call me a liberal, i dont know nor care about the labels, i just know i try to be a fair, sensable person. no need to corrupt it with societys view of the correct way to go about politics. how about just doing the right thing? we need to go back to what our founding fathers were doing, cause this selfish society were living in now is NOT working out.

Should have had none of the above. I like to evaluate things myself, don't listen to the pundits, or any of those listed.
