I've had good luck with the post office, had a few issues getting packages from fed ex before, though where i am now it seems fedex just sends em to the post office instead of delivering them to me
When you deliver a calender 63 years too late from the Pennsyvania RR from 1950, then you got to drop to last place. At least the Post Office did deliver it.
Fed Ex although a good company could never deliver like the Post Office does. I can not even begin to tell you all the personal touches our mail carrier does for all of us. There are three that do this route and all of them are great.
To me a clear example of the efficiency of free enterprise over governmental bureaucracy, but I seldom use either so I'll have to see what others have written.
You're comparing apples and oranges. Only the USPS delivers actual mail and we also deliver many of the parcels for UPS and FedEx. Just like any other business, it's only as good as the employee who delivers it is. Our post office is really good because we have people who care. The City of Tampa SUCKS!
The Postal Service moves far more items per day than FedEx has ever thought of moving. Were the Postal Service to go out of business and FedEx and United Parcel Service were to take up the slack, they'd have to build 10 new airports to handle the increased work load and over 25000 new employees.
Oh too, the price of a regular letter would go to about $7.00 and still take longer to get there than the Postal Service provides.
For the price obviously the post office. For areas covered, the post office. If republicans succeed in shutting down the post office, will be interesting to see how fast Fed X jumps into some place located in the sticks. My guess is never.
“For FedEx and UPS, the costs are lower to deliver in urban areas, and higher in rural ones, For the Postal Service, that cost structure is the exact opposite.
So FedEx and UPS use the Postal Service for ‘last-mile’ delivery in many areas where it would cost them too much to deliver that mail -- they prepare it for re-entry via the Postal Service which then walks it out for final delivery."
MEANING,...
“at least 30.4% of FedEx Ground shipments are delivered by the United States Postal Service.” With similar numbers for UPS!
...for just one reason
Both pitiful I was waiting on a package from Fed X my tracker said today . So at 930 pm I was going to bed then i hear a truck. Look out the window there the Fed X truck. A older lady about 50 or so come up to the porch with my package looking so tired, I ask her why are you here at this time of night. She said I can't go back until the truck empty. I now request UPS when I buy on line.
FedEx does get the job done and done quite well but is a bit pricey at times.
Bottom line UPS is the favorite among businesses....World Wide

Where I live and do business, I get better service out of them. :)
