There are almost always some jobs available, it's just that many people think some jobs are "beneath them". If they need money badly enough, however, they soon lose their snobbery.

That's exactly your problem, and many others. If you're starving, "feelings"don't(or shouldn't) enter into it. Work, make money or starve.

I live in an area rife with Blueberry farms and Strawberry farms... Try to find a White man that will pick them,,, And dont bull crap about the wages.. The Mexicans that work for my friends farms make double the average wage of the local people...

I have offered work to the bums standing on the corner with their God Bless Signs and Hell no! alwas some lame excuse why they cant use a paint brush or push a lawn mower....

I agree completely. There are also many people who choose to remain on welfare instead of working. Note: I'm not criticizing welfare or those folks on welfare who would rather be working.

Too many highly qualified people doing menial labor to allow the first part of that propostion to pass muster. The second part, however, is always true. It all depends on how hungry people get.

But the question relates to the jobs that people might perceive to be menial-- 'beneath them' in some way.

Yeah, it's a bad business, alright. Lot of construction workers looking for anything that pays around here. I don't know how many are on the dole.

There are many, but there are many who won't. I hope it doesn't take them starving to death to teach them they should have gotten off their high horse.

I should follow that advice, I am about to college in August however I quit my job at Mcdonalds for a stupid reason and I refuse to apply to another fast food place ever again!!! If I did so however I would have a quick job since I have a years worth of experience so I believe it to a certain extent. However it is different for someone with skills because there is now way they should have to take a job at McDonalds when they have a Masters degree and several specialist degrees in something unrealted BUT...you have to do what you have to do sometimes!!!

Exactly. People need to get off their high horses because with the economy being in the deplorable state that it's in, you just have to take what you can get, no matter what it is.
