If I have freedom, I can chose peace. If I don't have freedom, peace is just compliance. However, both are a state of mind, ie: phobias and addictions can steal both no matter what kind of society. I FREELY chose God to know PEACE.

I wish there was an "other" option. Peace and freedom are enemies of each other. Perfect peace is pure oppression, and perfect freedom is chaos and anarchy.

Peace cannot exist with true Freedom. They will clash with each other, and I'd rather see the world peaceful than completely free. I could only imagine the kind of carnage that would erupt from true Freedom.

Peace is an illusion though. It does not exist, and I don't believe we'll ever see it. Coexistence is what I really want in this world. We don't need to like each other; we just need to learn how to live near each other and not get worked up over who's living next to us, what they're doing, how they do whatever they do, and who they are.

Freedom doesn't promote peace. If everyone was completely free to do as they wished, it would be anarchy. That being said, I'm not in favor of being oppressed to be peaceful.
