Faith or Piety depends on how the person is. I'm a bit of a spiritual person myself, but I don't want someone who blindly follows their religion without question. Especially if they can't be open to other people's beliefs.
I think we always look for the good in people and want to see some form of sincerity because it makes us more drawn to the person. It makes them more approachable and open to getting to know them. Perhaps that's why Kindness, Charity or Empathy was the most chosen out of the three.
One does not need to be religion to be a patriot.

One does not need to be religion to be a good spouse.
One does not need to be religion to be a good parent.
