Alaska Not only is it the largest state in the Union, but the most beautiful. Nothing else compares. I have regretted moving away every day for the last 2 1/2 years.

Though the way things are going, it's difficult to say what the union is or whether we are truly a part of it anymore.

anything on the West Coast. People seem more progressive and open minded. I stay away from the Midwest and South. I have relatives there and they're not very sophisticated.

I'd study climatology maps before I'd leave the Mexican Baja for a state. It's likely that I'd head for Juno, Alaska.

They all have their pros and cons. Been in every state except, Washington, Oregon and New Hampshire, plus Canada and Mexico. Born and raised in Florida. Left Florida in 1984. Got tired of three climates, hot, hotter and hottest with humidity out the ying yang.

Now live in southest Ohio. Perfectly content here and I really like the change of seasons. Unfortunately, I think the Florida weather followed me for summer temps.

Daniel Moore was born in 1941 in Walla Walla, WA, (one of the closest hospitals), and raised with six brothers in Athena, OR (18 miles north of Pendleton, in Eastern Oregon, where there are more cows than people). The son of a preacher man, Daniel went to college in Eugene, OR, then moved to L.A. to do music (1962). Within two weeks he had a record deal (wrote his first song for it), beginning a career that has lasted 40+ years. In the early 60's, he played acoustic bass and sang backup with Jimmy Rogers, another northwesterner. In 1965 he began producing records, one of the first independent producers in the business. In 1967 The Everly Brothers recorded Daniel's song, "Deliver Me." In 1970 he joined Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen group and went on tour, then did an album for ABC Records as an artist, produced several records and began writing in earnest. In 1973 his composition, "Shambala," became a million + seller hit for Three Dog Night. Later that year he had another hit single, "My Maria," co-written and performed by B.W. Stevenson. Joe Cocker recorded several of Daniel's songs in 1975 and 1976 for A & M Records ("Put Out the Light," "If I Love You, " "Jack-A_Diamonds," "I Can't Say No"). Bonnie Raitt recorded the title cut, Daniel's "Sweet Forgiveness," on Warner Bros. in 1976. In 1979 Daniel produced Kim Carnes' 1st album for EMI America Records; then in 1981 he went on tour with her as a background singer. In 1996 Brooks and Dunn recorded "My Maria" and had a smash hit with it. Daniel co-wrote the song "Fire in the Hole" with Marty Grebb; it was released in the Steven Seagal movie "Fire Down below" (1997) and on the soundtrack CD. The Band then recorded the same song in 1998.

We drove down from Ft. Lauderdale all the way down the Keys. Stopped at a bird refuge, a turtle refuge, a dolphin refuge. Now this was a girl's trip, you do know men would NEVER stop at all these places! We fed pelicans, watched dolphins do shows, saw how they treat turtles. It took all day to drive down, and we loved it!
