I think both are negative and unhealthy attitudes. But they can also tend to be related. Indifference is often a result of not wanting to feel anything strong, such as hate. People are not indifferent or hateful by nature, unless they are born with a severe disorder or disability of the mind. In my experience, my hatred of myself for hating everything eventually lead to the ultimate elimination of feelings all together. Hate and anger are secondary emotions, usually triggered by hurt. So one goes to another to another and so forth and so on.
Interesting POV. I find that indifference leads to apathy, and absence of any feelings of the subject at hand. There's no hate, but there's no love, like etc. either.;no passion if you will.Apathy can be just as damaging as hate, and probably more so.
Thanks!
Totally agreed. You can delve pretty deep into the subject. I was just trying to use the relative terms at hand. I enjoyed mulling over your question. But, I'm a bit of a psychology-nerd haha (:
I think indifference is worse than hate. If you're indifferent then you allow others to control what goes on around you. You're a pawn in their game of life.
Thanks!
Indifference allows hate to grow
