Experience for any job I believe out rules education. I do believe individuals should have an education as it makes you a more well rounded person. Education doesn't prepare you for many positions out there experience does.

What a great question. I am not sure. I think a mixture of both is most preferable to me.

I think both are equally important. Say if you go for a job, you could have all the education in the world but you still need to have some experience.

If you don't have experience of what to do in the real world, you're going to be screwed. HOWEVER, an education is vital.

In some companies, you need both education AND experience.

Education without experience is just book smarts Experience without edcuation is just drudgery.

Both play equal parts in getting ahead in life. Just ask that guy in the hospital who is about to have surgery if he wants the new guy who graduated top of the class or teh guy who's already done a dozen of the types of surgry? Then ask that guy who's about to camp in the forest if he wants the guy who has spent years in the area walking the trails and experiencing the wildlife and climate or the guy who has read everything about teh enviorment but never left the classroom.

Both types of learning are needed to be most effective...

They are bothe equally important but with an education you can get the jobs that will provide the experience to allow you to have a successful career. Getting a career based off of experience is a lot harder to do than getting an education and you would be basing your career off the word of others which can get you out of advancing in your career with a bad recomendation.

Both are important. One needs both an education and then needs to get experience.

A combination is more important... Education will teach to solve problems, and experience will show you if you are doing well at it or not..... The best thing you can do once you graduate from college or university, is pretty much forget all that you learned there, and move forward being mentored... for experience.

I didn't have an education but hard work and gaining experience helped me to succeed quite well. Almost every job that you get will require you to receive and get on the job training. With exceptions of course. Those would be professional careers such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, accountants, etc. There may be other exceptions but for the most part you can succeed without higher education. Even more important than experience is you dedication to hard work and dependability. Unfortunately these are two things that are lacking in many many of our young people today (Many many older ones too).

Their is nothing in this world that you can't learn by doing it yourself. It doesn't matter how many classes you take and how much you study to prepare you for being a parent. No amount of talk will prepare you enough for war. It all takes experience. Everything we learn in high school usually means squat when you walk out the door.
