The first section didn't seem like someone who didn't give a crap.
A less extreme example seems like someone very generous, caring and helpful.
In other words, an extremely rare soul who does give a crap.

I can't believe that 38% of you all think "receiving money for your own benefit" is selfish. Are you anti capitalist boobs or what? Obviously. If that's the way you think, you all are going to have a very rude awakening one of these days. You all are living in a dream world that idiot socialist US president piece of commie excrement has sold you. Are you all socialists too? Do you really want to live in a government controlled world where the government controls every aspect of you lives. You only have to look at the sad state of affairs the Russian or Cuban economy is in to have a preview of where this country is going if undereducated ignorant naive people like you have your way and keep what's-his-name in office.

That 38% is obviously made up of young people still in school, living at home with parents who work hard to support you. Bet your parents don't think that way. Tell you what, next job interview you have just tell the interviewer that you'd like the job but don't want as much money as they want to pay you. And as far as the rest of you, the deluded-ought-to-know-better mature people already in the workforce who think you are making too much money and don't need or deserve it, give the excess to me. I need it to buy medical insurance the government says I must have but doesn't seem inclined to provide it for me. I'm entitled. lol

None of the above. Everyone has to make money, and many of the people who borrow money and/or receive welfare need to do so to support their families. I think the most selfish is when you make enough money to live a comfortable life, but don't use even a little of that money to help others that are less fortunate.

Career welfare recipients are the most selfish. There is nothing wrong with receiving a hand when one is down, but there are so many people born into welfare, and they live their entire lives on it. Not to mention that the illegals are schooled on how to enter into the system and receive welfare and free everything. They come here and establish themselves as welfare squatters.

By law, u have to be a citizen to get welfare, and u can only receive it for a lifetime total of 4 years as of 2000 I think the year was

Well, maybe you are right, but still a friend of mine works at a grocery store and the illegals there all come through with food stamps. Is that welfare?

It's a benefit offered to American citizens, they are either not illegal, which I'm betting on, since I doubt ur friend asks them, and only just assumes based on color or accent, or they have visas and green cards, you must provide ss cards birth certs ids for everyone in ur home or proof of of being legal.

While welfare is an important short term solution to an immediate need, it should not be considered as a permanent source of income. Those who live off the dole as a career are selfish. They deprive both the earner of income that they need for their families and impact the funds available for the truly needy.

Wic is for pregnant women, and children up to age 5 who are below poverty level, section 8, is for as long as you qualify, as well as snap, and as long as you follow the rules, I'm not sure what afdc is, medicaid is for children 18 and under whose parents are below poverty level, or 21 and under if they are in school, pregnant women and parents receiving cash assistance, when the assistance ends so does the insurance, and for ppl on disabilty who dont meet income guidelines.

Only if you absolutley need it, then its not selfish....but i grew up watching my dad make money for us to survive. and i am known as "the bank" back in highschool. I loaned people small amounts of money all the time. So that just left welfare...

I come from a lower class family, and we would have starved on numerous occasions without food stamps. Making money for yourself is the concept behind capitalism. If you don't like it, move to China. However, borrowing from a friend always makes me feel very selfish- like I'm taking advantage of them.

NONE of THEM is a good answer and that catagory does not exist in this poll.

Actually Capitalism works fairly well right up to the point that it is exploitation. If you make a little money off of someone who you employ well that is ok, but if you make yourself filthy rich off somebody else's labor well that is extremely selfish. What do we see happening in the world today that actually is extremely selfish? The war on women, forcing people into poverty by forcing them to compete with slave labor in China, how about destroying the economy while lining your own pocket, then foreclosing on those who lost their jobs? All of those a certainly selfish. Sop the 1% are clearly making money for their own benefit but at the expense of the working class.

Making your own money is honorable, healthy, American and proper. Receiving money from friends as a gift or a loan is disgraceful and applying for welfare makes you a loser and pond scum.

Rigged question, it is not selfish to earn money, receive welfare benefits or get a loan. Please post real questions or take me off your mailing list. I see this question as skewed to get the results that most Republican'ts would say, that receiving welfare when you are in need is selfish, it would be better for their selfish world view if you would just politely go away and die instead.

You are right. Exploitation of labor up to a certain threshold is ok but at some point it is across the line and selfish! The idea that the top 400 individuals have more wealth in the US than the bottom 150 million, clearly demonstrates your comment to be accurate and appropriate.
