Four of my favourite bands but these are alternatives since at least one member of each of those bands is dead:

1. Bonzo's son is fantastic on drums. He has played in reunion concerts with the surviving members of Led Zeppelin. They have never been on tour.

2. The Beatles' sons have planned on getting together but I don't see them filing the shoes of their fathers one bit.

3. Adam Lambert is the current lead singer of Queen. *barf*. LONG LIVE FREDDIE MERCURY!!!!!!!!

4. They wouldn't be the same without Kurt Cobain of course.

Yeah, I can't see that happening... but good list!

Well,it can happen..Only in a parallel universe or in anyone's mind,and still..I do have the right to wish for something virtually impossible,but not really expecting it to actually happen.Alternatives aren't as good as te originals,that is why they are alternatives..And,oh bother,The Beatles Reloaded are an absolutely terrifying idea.The most terrifying,I must say.What would be your "impossible" list?

I never said you couldn't wish for something which is virtually impossible. I'm also aware that alternatives aren't as good as the originals. I just offered suggestions as far as how to make your list ''possible''. I love your list because they are four of my favourite bands. For this question, I chose ABBA because I love them just as much as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Nirvana. Having ABBA on tour is possible since all the original members are still alive but they've said that they have no desire whatsoever to perform again, no matter how much money they are offered.

Where oh where is none of the above. The only reason I chose Abba a couple years ago I came across front row tickets to one of their concerts. Stupid me called the wife and asked if she wanted to go. Of course she said, yes. So I went with the wife and girls to watch them. Oh geeesh.. Needless to say I will never get front row again. These people looked old.. well I am too...

Wife and girls loved it though.. It was pure torture for me.
